This one seems to be cropped a bit on the right. If/When I get a better image I’ll post it.
There’s some speculation as to what it is, it’s been alleged it’s either the Ark of the Covenant or a 57′ Chevy. Feel free to speculate below.
this should be the effect, 3D. Pretty niffty if I might say so myself:

thanks man trying to make that work was hurting my eyes
I think sales of Panadol may rise in conjunction with sales of 10,000 Days…..
lol
borat. cool, but i dont think that is the desired effect.
gar,if you keep practicing you will eventually get it. just go cross eyed…and stare at the centre image…difficult to explain exactly, takes some patience thats for sure! the image magically becomes pretty vivid and lifelike. it helps if you enlarge the image with an image manipualtion program. having this artwork on the larger lp sleeves would be nice…hmmm
adams myspace http://www.myspace.com/adamjonestv has more…
khemystri on TDN pointed out that the Maynard pics are in fact the wrong way round, and look way better when you look at them with this corrected version:

Of course it may also just be that we’re all backwards…..
To me, the originals have the proper depth perception, whereas his are all backwards. Besides, when you scan an image, it doesn’t get flipped…so, unless the originals are flipped, we had them right originally.
From what I’m reading, there’s actually two ways to do it, and it would appear that the cross-eye method reverses it in the case of the Tool pictures. Other examples on the net seem to work fine. Apparently the best way to do it with the Tool pics is do the same thing with the magic eye books, basically, focus past the image, and then move your head back until it comes.
looks like the Ark of the Covenant alright, resting atop what looks to be the structure of an oil platform. How subtle, indeed, Mr. Carey.
this has been shown to be fake. see here: http://toolnavy.com/showthread.php?t=43445
