Apparently Tool are playing at the Street Scene Festival in San Diego on the 4th or 5th of August. Looks like Tool will be all over the place around then. San Diego early AUgust, Japan in the middle (plus Oz/NZ?) and then back to the US for their arena tour. Good way to build up the frequent flyer points I suppose!
Other bands on the gig include Queens of the Stone Age, Tricky, Bad Religion and a whole stack of presumably crap bands starting with “The”.
The Herald Sun (Melbourne paper) or should I say David Flathery gave 10,000 Days- 2.5 stars out of 5 stars. He says that Tool fans will love this album, however with the influx of good bands these days producing more innovative music…10,000 Days seems ancient and unimportant. I tend to agree with him there.
He’d probably give it 4 stars if it was by “The Tools”.

He’s right though. It’s too bad Tool isn’t as innovative as all those bands that sound like the 60’s/70’s/80’s. And Tool’s lyrics, GAWD, am I right people? Maynard should try and be more like Chris Cornell and tell us about how certain things don’t remind him of anything. That’s what I call a lyricist.

Tool stays at number 4 in Oz charts as well. Thats not a bad effort, usually a band like Tool, would be on it’s way out of the top 20 after 3 weeks.
