Tape on Toolnavy posted a couple of links to galleries of pictures from the recent Luxemborg show. Some great pics there, including my favorites:

Vicarious video in 2 days time?????????????/
well hopefully anyway
I doubt it…..
Maybe streaming on Toolband, but definitely no DVD release.
10,000 Days is stagnant and bores the fuck out of me..why? there’s plenty of other better bands that produce more cutting and innovative music than this..Meshuggah ring a bell?
Ok, you don’t like 10,000 Days. We get it. What’s being cutting (whatever that means) and innovate got to do with liking a record?
There are plenty of bands who write good music who aren’t either of those, yet somehow there’s this big deal that because Tool don’t do something “innovate” they suck?
I think Tool has always been stagnant. They’re definitely the most monotonous band I’ve ever liked. Sorry, loved. I think that shows in ALL of their other albums, except maybe in the softer songs on Lateralus. Maynard’s voice? The guitar? How about in their boring looping animations at live shows? If you explained this band to me before I listened to them, I don’t think I’d ever give them the time of day. But lucky for me, I heard Parabola before I knew anything about them, and I felt a teather snap. Freedom. Ascension. Beneh beneh beneh beneh – behhhhhhwhuhuu… Read more »
Aenima is definitely their most diverse album…everything after is a repeat of 70’s prog rock. Don’t want to come off as being elitist…but I’m done with Tool. Not going to bother see them live. 10,000 Days is a shitty album, but with some amazing moments. Personallys peaking this album is equivalent of Metallica’s St. Anger effort. One thing I do miss though…Paul D’Amour. Paul played the songs like Stinkfist, Eulogy, and 46&2. Adam became high on Floyd, and wanted to play his symphony Third Eye. Don’t get me wrong, Third Eye is fantastic. Paul’s songs had a head and tail…he… Read more »
paul was involved in the writing process for stinkfist, pushit, Ænema, and eulogy. all information points to forty six & 2 being written without paul.
i think the two different bass players gives Ænima that unique feel, where undertow (all paul) is sort of gritty and lateralus (all justin) is more like ochestrated movements; Ænima is, for me, the defining tool album because it draws on both “styles” quite well.
Justin is a way better basses then paul. Are u fuckin deaf. Look at schism, the grudge and disposition.ps dude it’s fine havin an opinion but u have no idea what ur talkin about. by the lateralus shit’s on any other record they have done.

newb
get off Justin’s nuts… Paul was far more superior. Justin’s been playing teh same bass riff since Crapelarus.

haha wieśniak?? czo ty pjerdolisz..z Gdansku??….chujwdupie.
this new direction (since Aenima) is terribly boring. the songs are becoming less directional and more repetitive. it reminds me of listening to 30 min Dead songs. its not altogether unpleasing if you are in that state of mind but it is not the reason i listened to tool in the first place. Aenima is one of the greatest albums ever written but not this new stuff. their live show is also getting bloated and sterile.
People it’s just an album, no need to get your panties in a bunch.
Who are you even talking to anymore?
Here’s Paul’s new band, stop dwelling on a band that he left 11 years ago. Go complain on that site instead, maybe about how much the vocals suck.
http://www.feersumennjin.com/
I think Feersum Ennjin are pretty good. Sure you can’t compare the vocals to Maynard, but then again not many singers can.
Just for the record, I think Tool are a better band with Justin than Paul, and personally I prefer both Lateralus and 10,000 Days over Aenima and Undertow. To give Tool some credit, they didn’t just employ Justin and expect him to duplicate Paul. They asked him to join the band, but leave his own mark, not only in his style of playing but also his songwriting ability.
I agree with hellboy in that Tool is overall a better band with Justin rather than Paul, even though Paul was still really good and still is in Feersum Enjinn. I just wonder if you people who despise Justin cannot hear how he has established a unique sound by use of his digitech bass whammy? I mean, sure, it’s just an effect pedal, but he uses it very well (eg. on Right In Two, where he uses a fifth up/octave up harmony). Perhaps those who still don’t agree are simply loyal to Tool’s undertow and aenima material and not open… Read more »
Apparently no one here plays bass, or anything else. PRactically everything on Undertow is mediocre, by Tool standards. The bass is weak as hell onm that record, and 46&2 is the only real bass highlight on Aenema. The bass line for The Pot is freakin’ sick, as is the line about 2 thirds of the way through 10k days pt2. Seein’ him live only adds to it. He doesn’t just stand there and play bass. He’s messing w/ his bass and various effects… like a passive agressive Tom Morello. If you played bass… with any skill, you’d know Justin’s by… Read more »
also, I was at this show… these guys are talented beyond description.
paul’s work is so gritty were as justin brought the psychedelic element to Tools music
when is the vicarious video out?

j/k
word is July.
bahh this chujwdupie guy is just another jonas. he will hang around for a while dissin 10,000 days until one day he is told to fuck off and then he’ll leave. im still looking for those t-shirts. ive tracked one with the new eye logo on the back and the third one from the left in that pic up there but im still dearly in need of the 2 “net of being” shirts as they are by far the best. is there any silverchair fans here or is grunge not a particular favourite. its so different with bands unlike tool.… Read more »

oh yeah Border Security..thanks for the reminder.
we gott akeep them mingaz out that’s for sure.
Ha, you guys are funny. Jonas wasn’t told to fuck off, he chose to leave since he was bored. I’m sure Chujwdupie will do the same if he gets bored. But as far as I’m concerned, his opinion is *always* welcome, regardless of whether I agree with it or not. Replayee, get with the program man, grunge rules, but Silverchair blow. They try so hard to be like Tool, and their other heros, but it just comes of as fake. And I like Audioslave too. I must be the only person in the world who’s looking forward to the new… Read more »
yeah i agree with hellboy
silverchair are gaycunts.
as for audioslave, ‘Out of Exile’ was a more consistent album throughout-even more so than the devut..so no doubt looking forward to this new one.
Oh yeah the new STRAPPING YOUNG LAD album kicks much ass…
I’d still hit Natalie Imbruglia though..
Silverchair=Grunge???..HAHA..Lay off the Meth Replayee
Silverchair’s more like more like post-grunge.
^ edit for the above
Silverchair’s more like post-grunge.
I some Lateralus themed t-shirts will be on sale at the show I’m going to
meh i still think they are alright.*silverchair*
as for audioslave i really think out of exile was a waste of time, cornell’s voice just didnt cut it in that album. The self titled album is simply a masterpiece. Every single song on audioslave is great. OOps im sorry there is one song i like on out of exile and that is the live cover of like a stone.
as for “revelations” have you heard the leaked songs hellboy???? or anyone else for that matter.
are they any good??
I haven’t heard any of Revelations, as I wasn’t waware anything had leaked. Will try and take a look around today and see what I can find.
I thought Out of Exile was pretty good actually. Though I can’t really compare it to 10,000 Days, Out of Exile also took me several listens before I really got into it.
Another tool t-shirt
http://www.tshirthell.com/store/product.php?productid=673
although that shirt did provide a small laugh it is not really wat im lookin for 😀
haha,
hey what leaked songs??
revelations??
Did u guys read the 2005 September Newsletter?
Here’s an extract:
“Personally, I’m getting sick and tired of waiting for “Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band On The Dark Side Of The Moon.” I wish they’d just hurry up with the damn thing (even though I’ve heard it about a hundred times already) and put it on the shelves at Tower!”
If Blair thinks that 10,000 Days is remotely close to those classic albums he’s got another thing coming….But thumbs up on hyping the album up, 1,000,000 albums sold already…. Oh you live and learn I suppose.
audioslave sucks
i do remember reading it but i cant seem to find it again. sorry for getting your hopes up :(.
Audioslave is OUTSHINED OUTSHINED OUTSHINED OUTSHINED!
I don’t really think comparing 10,000 Days (or any album for that matter) no another in regards to it’s “classicness” is something you can do. I don’t think there’s many people who would consider 10,000 Days to be a classic in the same vein as Sgt. Peppers & Dark Side. But, considering I have all three on my iPod, I can tell you 10,000 Days gets far more listens than either of the other two do. Regardless of how much an album is rated as a “classic”, people opinions always override that. All you can do with any album, is… Read more »
