There’s an exclusive post on Toolarmy, supposedly discussion some dreams Maynard has been having lately. In the spirit of reading too much into things, I’m going to suggest that the 24th of July is a date to watch.
Here’s an excerpt for you non-TAers:
I was in an old school vintage arcade playing Mr Do with David Hasslehoff and Leonard Nimoy. (I think I was drinking Dekuyper’s Spearmint Schnapps out of a Pepsi cup, but it could have just as easily been Peach. Im not sure the relevance.)

i really cant believe no one likes silverchair. i liken their style of music a little to nirvana. bahh they dont compare but hey. 2 questions
1. nirvana fans anyone here ???
2. hav the band ever mentioned their thoughts on nirvana/kurt cobain. do they despise/like them??
I couldn’t be bothered looking at his myspace… But if you want to read what they post on toolarmy, and like me, think what you get from toolarmy is a ripoff, go to echoing the sound and they always post them.

Nirvana, how could you not be a fan? (Well I know one guy.) I don’t like Silverchair… but to be fair I’ve only heard one song… that ‘we are the youth’ one (I think that’s what he says). But I saw them in an interview and didn’t like how they acted or what they had to say yadda yadda yadda. I’ve always been a starfucker that way. Integrity is a big thing for me, and unfortunately I’m quick to judge. I don’t mind Nirvana personally, they have a few good songs, but Cobain’s vocals always annoyed me, especially when he’s just yelling repetitivley. But I guess that’s just Nirvana. I don’t like Silverchair, and that’s because I don’t like their music, and also because I feel they haven’t really ever done anything original. They’ve ripped off about every 90’s grunge and metal band out there. Silverchair have used Stinkfist to open their shows, as a kind of intro thing. They did it at bdo a few years ago, and im pretty sure they’ve used nirvana too.
I’d never just go home and put on a silverchair record, but i think they did pretty well, recording frogstomp at 14. Quite an achievement.
C’mon guys. I dont mean to turn this into a silverchair post but have you heard their last album Diorama? It has some of most original music I have heard. That album ranks amongst my top 10 albums.
Silverchair is alright by me I guess, just because I’m not fit to say anything about them. Live and let diorama.
I could easily go home and listen to Mad Man a few times on repeat, they played it live at the Fall’s a few years ago.. gave it a few more minutes and a few more years of experience and it was senfuknsational 😀
