Some details are trickling in regarding the Tool tour in January 2007. As previously mentioned, tickets for both shows go on sale at 9:00am on August the 25th. Here are some details, the Melbourne pricing is not really confirmed. It’s something from Toolnavy.
Personally, presuming I can get tickets I’ll be heading to the Sydney show, so if anyones keen to meet up for some beers before hand, then that can surely be arranged. Don’t waste time buying tickets either, I’d suggest both shows will probably sell out on the first day without too many problems. I’ll be looking at buying a few tickets (if I can) so if I have any left over I’ll be selling them to Fourtheye fans, for face value of course…

Edit: I was just looking at the official press release as well, and it looks like the promoters this time around are Lee’s and West, which for those who don’t know is the Big Day Out promoter. Last time Tool toured they used Frontier promotions I think. I guess another clue that Tool will be Big Day Out-ing.
bah are they gonna do a brisbane show?? cause personally i dont like sydney and all the asians and ethnics within — not that they would go to a tool concert anyway probably too busy stealing our jobs and causing havoc on the streets.
lets just keep fingers crossed that brissie gets a visit and that its announced pre-26th august or god help me — i may join the barrage of ethnicity that is syndney!
Damnation! I want ticketek… there’s an outlet about 3 minutes away… Oh, it’s not all bad, Ticketmaster is about 20 minutes away… pity, I had planned a 12-hour party outside the UNSW ticketek from 9pm the night before… oh well…
I doubt it, I think if there was going to be any other side shows, then we’d know about them by now. So I guess it’s either BDO Gold Coast or Sydney for you, in which case I’ll buy you a beer.
If there’s only two side-shows… then would that mean they’ll do another, more comprehensive tour later on like they did last time? I mean, many tool fans in all those cities would be pissed off at just seeing them at BDO, the set list is short and the sound is not nearly as good. I can live in hope I suppose…
Well, I’d suspect that we’ll see Tool again before they finish their 10,000 Days tour. I’d guess they do the rest of the US in March-May, Europe again June-July, and then probably Australia/NZ/Japan again later in the year.
They’ve always been pretty good to Australia in the past, and I’d be surprised if they weren’t good to us again in the future.
*charred*– good point if – and lets hope they dont — they dont play anwyhere but M and S then they will most probably tour again
But your comment about the bdo isnt correct. sure the set is smaller and the sound not as good but the atmosphere is incomparable
Since when has Tool pandered to pissed off Tool fans anyway?
Your right Hellboy. I’m also thinking of jumping in the plane with a mate for the Sydney show (Just in Case)! Unless, (Like yourself I would guess) a brissie date is anounced prior to the 25th.
Either way man I ain’t missing out. And I’ll be thirsty for more than a beer too. Maybe even a couple of rumbo’s?
Two things: Firstly, call it wishful thinking, but maybe Melbourne and Sydney side-shows have only been announced so far because both venues (SEC and Myer Music Bowl) do their ticketing etc. through Ticketmaster, where as the Brisbane Entertainment Centre and possibly others (e.g. venues in Adelaide & Perth) do thier ticketing stuff through Ticketek….? What do you think? Maybe Ticketek are jsut holding back a few details for now? Personally though, I think Melbourne and Sydney will be the only side-shows. Sorry! Secondly, I need some advice from you all: What in your personal experiences is the best way to… Read more »
I’d buy on the internet. I’ve never had any trouble doing it. The only problem is that ticketmaster take 2 months to get them to you. its took 9 weeks for them to send me BDO tickets a couple years ago.
Since when has Tool pandered to pissed off Tool fans anyway?
umm………*cough lateralus *cough…
*cough 10,000 days *cough
BDO tickets are slightly more complicated because the organisers want each ticket-holder’s name on their ticket. I remember wondering why my BDO 2004 ticket was taking so long and that was the reason given, so as to avoid scalping etc. Croaka, what events have you used the internet for? I’m just wondering as to the size of demand etc. I ask because of what happened last year with Ticketek and U2 – their website shat itself. I know Tool are nowhere near as popular as U2 but I am just curious because I would hate to be at my computer… Read more »
The past few years I pick my tickets up the next day from ticketmaster. They just print it out at whatever location you go to. Maybe not in Australia, but I don’t see why not.
Doors – if you dislike Lateralus and 10,000 Days then that’s fine with me as I respect your opinion.
But why do you continue to go on and on about it?
Were you neglected as a child?
Seriously, stop bitching about the same old things…
Ah.. I guess that’s all cleared up.. nevermind.
I’ve had some bad experiences with ticketek website, I’ve honestly never tried ticketmaster when an event opens… but I’m not taking any chances. Anyone wanting to camp out in Sydney somewhere with lots of red bull and vodka let me know (or atleast get there by 2 or 3 am with a cd player and some sleep beforehand).
Best we have a little sydney meetup before the show then hellboy . Someone mentioned doing some shirts as well which wasnt a bad idea.
the name’s replayee
Okay… I have a question… I’m planning to go to the Melbourne show aswell, but it says on their website that box offices only sell tickets to that particular location. I’m wary about trying my luck online… So, anyone in Melbourne wishing to barter two tickets for Sydney let me know. And since the Sydney ones are more expensive you’ll be winning out anyway… And, what is the Myer Music Bowl like? I heard it was outside in the botanical gardens… which sounds nice, other than the fact that the gardens wont exactly be very visible in the dark with… Read more »
just a question?
wats the plan for those going —- general admin or sit down section????
So what’s the cdeal? Are they gonna play at the BDO or is this gonna be a seperate concert? Cos I’m pretty sure the BDO isn’t being held at the Sydney Entertainment Centre. And as previous question .. is it better to sit or stand at the show? Never seen tool live before. Can’t fucken wait.
there we go — 37minutes of pure “paint” action (photoshop wont run on my comp) have a look anyway.
just two t-shirt designs i thought could use some critical analysis.

Are you a UNSW student? I live near UNSW as well (being a UNSW student) and am planning on attending both the Melbourne show and the Sydney show. Maybe we can work something out with lining up to get tickets? I’ve got some good ideas…
Send me an email if you’re interested:
z3101365@student.unsw.edu.au
I think it might work out for the best for both of us if we buy together etc. for both gigs.
p.s. The UNSW ticketek sucks – one of the chicks who works/worked there always messed me around with tickets to big events….
Sydney meetup will definitely be happening I’m sure. Details to come closer to the date I suppose. You New South Welshmen need to think of a pub near the Entertainiment Centre to meet up at. Regarding the sales in Sydney, the last time I saw Tool play at the first show on the first Lateralus tour, the GA tickets sold out in a couple of hours, and then the seated tickets were gone shortly after stores opened the second day. I don’t think we’ll have too many problems getting tickets, but I wouldn’t dawdle either. Melbourne might be a different… Read more »
Hey Mattw.
I bought tickets to Fatboy Slim, Sevendust, Audioslave, Live, Metallica (might have been ticketek) and a few other little gigs. Nothing as big as U2 though.
BTW if you all want a good pub thats close to the entertainment centre go to Scruffy Murphies. Reasonably cheap for in the city, and the hottest bar maid works on wednesdays.
yeah record time.. yet spare seats everywhere
Scruffy Murphies is one of the greatest pubs for getting intoxicated in a very short period of time! Unfortunately, I had an unsavoury incident at said pub having consumed several ales in a short period of time. It involved regurgitation and resulted in an unimpressed girlfriend and a teary-eyed cab driver…..
Join the dots yourself.
Anyway, there’s plenty of places for us to meet up near the Sydney Entertainment Centre – I think it is a very good venue, whether you are standing or seated.
Thanks to everyone above for helping to answer some of my questions – Cheers!
Replayee… I like your shirts very much… I think the white one would look good as a white shirt rather than black. I’d certainly buy one as is anyway 🙂

Check your email sometime
I’m going to bed now – I’ll talk to you later mate!
Is there anyone in Canberra who wants to do shifts sitting in the queue with me? A lot of my friends like Tool but they don’t seem to realize how important this is.
Cant believe some of the shit here!!! thanks for the press release, will be able to go to a few shows now….as for that racist shit, get over it man, just live your life, im sure they dont give a shit about you, what do you care……..
Racist shit?
I’m pretty sure he was kidding.
Some people…
