The Arizona Republic have posted a short interview with Justin before their upcoming show at the Cricket Pavillion. Not a bad read. I guess this quote explains why Tool may be playing on the Big Day Out:
Q: You played the Coachella Festival in California in April. How did that compare to the European festivals you played over the summer?
A: It’s the one festival we played over here that compares. Festivals should be in a big field with grass in the middle of the country somewhere. We’ve played at “festivals” in America where it was just a bunch of bands in an arena, no vendors selling their wares, no places to explore, strange foods to eat. The European festivals are more old school, you can actually get lost at them, spend days wandering around, camp out, get away from the real world. Coachella is pretty close to that point.
Sorry to be off topic but can someone please explain to me what on Earth is going on with Toolnavy/Opinion forum etc?
What’s happening? I don’t understand. I’ve been a member since 2002 and suddenly it’s gone all silly…
The mind boggles.
Dr. Phil wants your cock… that’s what it’s all about mattw, I’m sorry. But it actually did say that when I went there.
I don’t quite think Big Day Out is like those European festivals… it certainly isn’t grassed with camping out hippies dancing to bongos all night, a pity really… it would be much better that way. But they’ll play it anyway because they can.
Yeah, I agree, you can’t really compare a BDO to a Euro festival, however, I’d consider them to be much better than your typical Ozfest as well.
I know it leaked like months ago… but the new TMV is so awesome!
And in that same vein, the new Jet really sucks.

Speaking of Sepultura, I was listening to Under a Pale Grey Sky last night, and man that’s a kick ass live CD.
Agreed. Like all my music (especially the live stuff) I need to listen to it more.
Best live band/cd/dvd?
Led Zeppelin – that dvd of theirs that goes for over 5 hours is so good!
Any others worth menioning…?
You know… My great uncle worked on that led zep one, he’s a complete prick and I seldom talk to him, but he did give me a free copy.
Others… Pink Floyd – Pulse is probably one the best dvd I’ve seen.
