According to the recent Triple J newsletter, Jay and the Doctor will be announcing the Big Day Out Festival lineup on Wednesday morning. While it’s been more or less established that Tool, Muse and Trivium will be playing, until that lineup is officially confirmed, anything could happen. It also mentions that there’s been a few hoax lineups released recently, so those of you who have read any, especially the one with Tool, Foo Fighters and Guns n Roses headlining, don’t get too excited.

Gun’s N Roses ain’t so bad. I have fond memories of almost all of their CD’s, and even though todays lineup is a bit of a joke, I’d still rather see Axl strutting his stuff than most of the other bands that would be named in the lineup….
But there’s no chance of them playing they’d have to headline, since if Axl did his usual two hours late thing, then the whole festival would be screwed.
I’m not talking down GnR, I would totally have gotten tickets (they’re coming here in december) if 1. I wasn’t worried about that 2 hours late thing, and 2. There were more of the original members, rather than just Axl.
And… GnR is over dude, maybe if CD finally came out and was better than anything I had ever fucking heard before, they wouldn’t be, but they are. GnR is fucking sacrosanct and should be left alone. But whatever, like I give a fuck, just adding conversation.
Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t go to a GnR gig these days for numerous reasons, but I would see them at the BDO. I’d take GnR anyday over endless shitty alt. rock bands which seem to plague the BDO’s these days….
Well Tools obviously the big one so they can’t ruin our BDO but I’m hoping theres going to be a few more interesting bands announced, whatever genre just not blatently commercial pap. Trivium does nothing for me…
I’ve gotta say that if Tool weren’t on the Bill I’m not sure there is much else.
I know I’ll get knocked for this But I can’t get into any music that comes from the UK at the moment. It’s just trash. If they had another headline like Opeth or something with some attitude It would kick more ass
