Bliar posted the September newsletter on Toolband/Army yesterday. As usual it doesn’t say much, but it’s quite short this time. He also gave details for an Isis release party for the new album “In The Absence Of Truth” on October 30th, if you’re in LA then be sure to check it out.
Ticketek has sold out it’s allocation to the Gold Coast Big Day Out, tickets are still available at independent stores listed and the Big Day Out website, but I don’t think they’ll last long. Thanks to mattw for the tip.
Edit: Big Day Out released another press release confriming all the tickets to Gold Coast have been sold. They held back 5000 tickets and will ballot them similar to Sydney, accept 500 per week, and all of these tickets will cost $125+bf. Same as Sydney, registrations for the ballot will open tomorrow at 9am. Good luck!

Well… they weren’t gone at 6am this morning.
Yeah ticketek’s allocation was gone when I checked at about 11am Tuesday morning (17/10) but they were still available today (Wed 18/10) on the BDO website till about midday I think. Apparently the organisers have held back some tickets for Gold Coast just as they did for Sydney but this is unconfirmed as of right now. Bottom line is that both Sydney and Gold Coast have effectively sold out in record time. Maybe because Tool are playing, maybe because more people want to go to festivals, who knows? I just hope it adds a sideshow for Tool somewhere, hopefully Brisbane…:)… Read more »

The BDO website has announced that 5000 tickets to the Gold Coast BDO will be allocated via the same sort of ballot system they are using for the Sydney show. 500 per week for 10 weeks. Just go to http://www.bigdayout.com and see for yourself if you haven’t already got a ticket…

in regards to the vicarious vid – didn’t parabola or schism video premier at one of the melbourne shows in 2001? could be something to hope for…….
The Parabol/a video came out in April 2002 just as Tool were embarking on their tour of Japan, New Zealand and Australia. They played the Parabola vid during the ‘intermission’ when I saw them on that tour…
Maybe the Vicarious video will be ready for 2007’s shows?
It’ll be interesting to see if they incorporate it for their live shows as they tend to play Vicarious later in the set. It would be kinda weird watching the vid and then hearing the song – might lose some of its appeal…
I hope it’s not that far away… I remember when the concert was announced, there was an ad in the Sydney Morning Herald metro for the concert, which also said the Vicarious dvd single will be released “soon”. Soon of course by Tool’s definition. Which is anyone’s guess…
