Tool in Japan?

According to the The Tool Hotline, four Japanese dates have been announced for February 2007.

TOOL Japan Tour 2007

2/8 Zepp Osaka
2/9 Zepp Tokyo
2/12 Yokohama Blitz
2/14 Nagoya Diamond Hall

All venues are clubs with less than 2000 caps. The Diamond Hall in Nagoya holds 1000.

Not sure about ticket information as yet… Infact I can’t find any info anywhere else. But I’ll take their word for it.

Sept. Newsletter is up, and is nice and short and just a little bit to the point, but only because it’s only three paragraphs.

“he (Adam) casually mentions to Justin that they should have Danny write a guitar riff for the next record.”

I know it mightn’t sound like much but I really enjoyed reading that part of the that sentence. Although it’s just a simple statement, it’s great to hear that in some small ways the band has visions for ‘the next record’ or at least has an idea that there will be a next record sometime etc.

Otherwise, good to see that Ticketek have sold out their allocation of tickets to the Gold Coast Big Day Out…

^2008 doesn’t look like it will feature any Tool shows if you go by their previous tour… Lateralus was released May 2001. Tool toured all throughout 2001 and then resumed touring in 2002, pretty much for the full year. After nearly 2 years of touring in support of their new album they took all of 2003 off. Fast-forward to 2006: 10,000 Days released in May, Tool tour all of 2006 and have some shows planned for 2007… I predict, with great confidence, that Tool will play shows throughout 2007 and then have some time off so don’t expect anything in… Read more »

meh who cares. by that time the greenhouse effect, lack of ozone layer, north korea and the terroists will have destroyed everything. including the band known as “tool.”

thats the political garbage they fee us.

^that’s an ‘interesting’ perspective you’re taking there mate – never quite thought of it that way before 🙂 The one thing that I have come to appreciate over the years is that usually is a ‘next time’ for bands with regards to touring and albums… I’m not too concerned but with the Sydney BDO and now the Gold Coast BDO pretty much sold out, I’m hearing a lot about young music fans missing out and feeling that it’s ‘do or die’ with respect to obtaining tickets… I agree with your “meh who cares” in some form. On a selfish level,… Read more »

when you think about it though. us youung people which you so hastily but correctly assumed have only been on this earth for 20 odd years. for you oldies, assuming from your tone 35+, you have been around a lot longer, you have seen how things come and go, and 5 years of your time, is less for you than it is for us.

if you can understand what i mean.

luky bitch, snakin my precious tickets. i have the bdo though

Of course I understand. For someone who is, for example, 40, a Tool album every 5 years is not as significant time-wise for someone who is 20. It’s 1/8th of your life vs. 1/4th of your life. Good point! Here’s the kicker though: I’m only 23… Thanks for assuming I was 35+ years old. I will take it as a compliment! I guess my opinions above are in comparison with how I felt and acted as a 15 or 16 year old. Last time Tool were here in 2002, I (19 years old) was much more desperate to see them… Read more »
