Excellent! I assume the date is the 24th. 6pm… hmm, doesn’t the concert start at 7.30? Doesn’t seem all that long to me, but we’ll probably be sick of each other by the end. And will we be meeting up afterwards?
Anyone who couldn’t figure out the date perhaps shouldn’t come. Feel free to get there earlier if you like. I have no idea what time I’ll be there. We can meet up afterwards as well, if we’re not sick of each other of course.
bakfromdadead – are you coming?

The show starts at 8pm (support act). They will play for about half an hour. Then a break. Tool come on at 9pm. It’s all good.
For anyone wanting directions and info, try the map below:
The Covent Garden is roughly in the middle of the map on Hay Street. As you can see, the Sydney Entertainment Centre is very close (it’s a 2min walk away at most) so there’s nothing to worry about.
Should be good. Tool Wednesday night, Sydney Big Day Out Thursday… 🙂
I’m happy to advertise a Melbourne meetup if anyone wants to organise it.
Regarding the Sydney show, I’ll be surprised if Tool are on stage much before 9:30, personally I’ll probably head there pretty much as soon as the doors open.

Most big name gigs at Entertainment Centres tend to have the main act starting at 9pm with the show typically lasting 2 hours so everything is finished by around 11pm. Personally, I wish it were slightly different but in terms of sticking to schedule and rostering staff etc I can understand why they do it. Anyway, the gig starts at 8pm, which means the support act will come on stage at 8pm.
I know it sounds cliche but I can’t believe how quickly time has gone by since tickets first went on sale…
Is this for anyone, or just FourthEye regulars? I’ve been a lurker here for months, big Tool fan, and new to Sydney, so would be good to meet some new people.

“At the Covent Garden Hotel, karaoke is so popular it’s held four nights a week. The tiny pub, which sits across the street from Paddy’s Markets in Chinatown, becomes jammed-packed with a motley crew of karaoke enthusiasts from Thursdays to Sundays.”

there’s a mashup of Nikki and the Butthole surfers.
I believe it’s called “strawberry buttholes”.
Hey doors, you wearing your cog t-shirt to the
Sydney show?
Might come along … don’t really know anyone from the site, but I’ve been lurking here for months now. Only lived in Sydney for a month, so it might be nice to meet some people.

are we supposed to look at that poster with the 10kd glasses?
(i’m not really serious… just noting the significant conceptual relevance.. kudos!)
It is Stereoscopic, so either use your glasses, or just do the cross-eyed thing.

For those going to the Melborne show on the 31st looks like a ToolArmy meetup(i’m sure non members will be welcome as long as they buy beer!!!) at the Esplanade in StKilda.
Not sure of times, but i’m sure they serve beer all day and thats what really counts.

I’m surprised nothing has been mentioned already. Make me think that Tool are going down the obscure DJ route than having a support act.
Personally I’d rather see a band play….
Sorry to disappoint you all, but Nikki Webster is the support act.
I’m not disappointed – she’s hawt!
