There’s been a lot of talk on the new theme, luckily most of it has been pretty positive. For those people who want clarification, or are just too lazy to read the comments:
- The logo is not the winning logo from the poll. The winning logo will be used on Fourtheye in a different way.
- Gravatars are not working at the moment, but they will be back
- Categories and Archives are down due to a Javascript bug. Will be back in a less javascript dependant way soon, and hopefully a fixed version of the AJAX one will be available later
- The new theme doesn’t like IE6. I’m not too cut up over this, but might look into it in the future. Kinda hard for me to test though since I don’t have IE6.
- For those who must use IE6, or just don’t like the new them, you should now see a Theme Switch area in the sidebar where you can pick whatever theme floats your boat. Note the two wordpress ones are untested so use them at your own risk!
- I will be playing around with the colours in the next few days since I’m not 100% happy with it.
- Comment Karma coming soon….
- Look forward to the “mystery” feature of Fourtheye being released early 2007. Those of you who know what I’m talking about should do some more work. Those who want to be part of it (and it involves work) email me.
Lastly, I was thinking of coming up with a best of 2006 playlist as compiled by Fourtheye members. I’ll be looking for around 20 songs that sum up listening tastes of Fourtheye. The catch is that all the songs must have been released this year, and that only 1 song from any artist will be included. I’m going to build a little web application to help with this process, so stay tuned. Feel free to make nominations below.
Yeah, maybe I’ll get back to more work on that… I have been busy though. I’ll write something up in my spare time, AFK.
As for nominations… gimme something from TMV. Tetragrammaton or Meccamputechture or Day of the Baphomets or… Asilos Megdalena or… Vicarious Atonement or…
Yeah, one of those Mars Volta tracks for sure… I’d say Day of the Baphomets personally. Also, something from the new Isis album, such as Over Root And Thorn or Garden Of Light or Firdous E Bareen or something. Also, I nominate “Etna” from the new Sunn O))) + Boris album. Also, Beware by Deftones or another off their new album such as Rats!Rats!Rats! That’s all I can think of for now.
Does Straws Pulled at Random from the re-recorded Meshuggah album count as released this year? :p
tool-third eye.
hmm i suppose that wasnt released this year though.
id say tmv-meccamputecture.
deftones-hole in the earth
muse-starlight
placebo-meds
i dont suppose we listen to much electro on fourtheye so i shall exclude that. thats about all ive liked outta this year. maybe 10000 days (the song) if tool counts (which it most probably does)
Agalloch – Falling Snow
Deftones – Xerces
Isis – Falling Tears
The Mars Volta – Meccamputechture
The Melvins – You’ve Never Been Right
Red Hot Chili Peppers – Slow Cheetah
Tool – Rosetta Stoned
pretty much anything off of black holes and revelations by muse. take a bow, knights of cydonia, map of the problematique, they are all amazing.
Something from The Melvins, e.g. ‘Civilized Worm’ or ‘You’ve Never Been Right”… Melvins kick ass.
Nominations:
Lamb of God – Redneck, Walk With Me In Hell, Pathetic
Deftones – Rats!Rats!Rats!, Xerces, Pink Cellphone
