Here are a few Tool and Non-Tool related news items I’ve noticed in the last few days:
- Apparently Tool are playing on Wednesday, March 21st at the Tucson Convention Center in Tucson. Thanks to Toolshed.
- Tool changed their set for the Gold Coast BDO last night, dropping a newer song for an older one. Thanks Matt!
- Rage Against The Machine are apparently reforming and playing on the Coachella Music Festival. This bill also allegedly contains a reformed Crowded House.
- Peeping Tom are also playing Coachella (unlike the last two these guys ARE confirmed). They are also planning on touring down under in 2007
- Never let the truth get in the way of a good story…..
Final details on the Fourtheye Meetup coming out tomorrow. See you all in a couple of days!
Last night was awesome to say the least. Very tight set and everyone seemed to have energy and enthusiasm which I believe is all we can ask for apart from a great performance.
First time for me right up front and I found it to be a great experience despite copping a couple of injuries with the wankers behind pushing and just being general fuckwits.
By the way I thought Vicarious was the best song on the night!!
Rage Against The Machine…meh. Now Soundgarden…that’s a different story.

I kind of agree with you there (though I don’t mind RATM and they do put on a good live show), but I’m not so sure Cornell has the goods these days….
I’d go for Soundgarden purely for Thayil moe than anyone in the band including Chris. That guy could play.
Last night was pretty cool, apart from a few wankers in the crowd. Schism went off as did Opiate and Lateralus. Can’t wait for Wednesday, hope they play some of the longer tracks off the new album.
That RATM news is absolute gold, just as long as it means a tour out here.
GQ Gold Coast Review: The day started on a dour note. On the drive from Brisbane a motorcyclist had been knocked off his bike and lay semi-conscious on the side of the road. The culprit looked to be an oversized 4WD. For the next half hour we sat gridlocked on the pacific as everyone slows down to inspect the damage. The VB Commodores carrying scores of Tool fans litter the freeway like the acne on their faces. We stroll through the front gate around 1pm and security seems fairly relaxed. None of my friends bags are searched. Unfortunately they seem… Read more »
That’s your review Doors, or did you just steal that from the Big Day Out forums?
Yeah the BDO forums.
Ok, so why post it? Doesn’t really prove anything except for that the guy doesn’t like Tool.
reforming Crowded House would be interesting, wouldn’t you
need a shovel?
ozzy !
Here’s the Coachella lineup in Poster form. Looks like RATM are confirmed:

Man. I’m equally ecstatic and crushed. I’ve wanted almost nothing more than for RATM to do anything together again for years, but there’s no way I can make it there……Ah well. HOORAY FOR BOOTLEGGING!
But seriously. This should be utterly fantastic. If I can’t get a vid of this show I think I’ll jump off a bridge somewhere.
ha ha NITOOL, you can have my shovel, I can never get it to work
I’m surprised that the Red Hot Shitheads didn’t force Coachella to drop Peeping Tom. Supposedly they’ve had Mr. Bungle kicked off festival bills because of the old RHCP vs. Patton/FNM feud.
I went to Coachella strictly for Tool last year, which was at least twice as good as any other show of theirs I’ve seen, and even more impressive on acid… The sound was incredibly loud and crystal clear thanks to the open air. Now I have to decide if Bjork and Explosions in the Sky make it worth the drive and $…
…not to mention all of the insanely annoying indie/fashion bands that are always there.
