Plenty of you guys have asked if you can post reviews of the recent Australian Tool shows. To cater for this I’ve been looking for a suitable WordPress plugin to cope with this kind of stuff. Unfortunately the search has come up empty at the moment. I am happy to publish them, so I propose the following:
- Email me your review at email@example.com
- If your review is any good, I’ll post it as a page in a similar method to the 10,000 Days reviews
- If your review is no good, I’ll reply to your email and let you know why I’m not publishing it. You will be able to re-submit it.
- You review may be rejected for any one of the following reasons:
- Excessively bad spelling and/or grammar. I will do some minor cleanup of the reviews, but won’t sit through 1,000 words of misspelt crap
- Reviews that are thinly veiled attacks on the band. I’m after a review of the concert, not your views on why Tool suck.
- Reviews that are negative will be accepted, however they must elaborate on why you felt it was so bad.
- Any other reason I choose, though you will be told why.
If you don’t like those terms, don’t send me a review. You are welcome to send photos or links with the review as well.
Got to see Roger Water for free last night, certainly interesting after the last 4 shows being TOOL… tool are better 😀
some pretty good discussion/reviews over at toolnavy hope some of them clean up if need be and post em here
Tool are better tahn Roger Waters? What grass were you smoking? Roger Waters was beyond amazing. The best gig I have ever been too. As for Toolo I haven’t seen them this year. Predictable, Maynard’s voice going down the gurgler, bad sound, etc. I’m happy with myself. 🙂 ‘Reviews that are negative will be accepted, however they must elaborate on why you felt it was so bad.’ ‘I also reserve the right to edit any of these articles, though these edits will be limited to enhancing the readability of the article, not altering the tone of the review.’-hellboy Hellboy is going… Read more »

Feel free to bag 10,000 Days but in my mind you opinion on the live shows doesn’t have a leg to stand on. Personally I thought Maynard was much… Read more »

Sorry but you’re an idiot to make that comparison.
Gilmour is the man…after Wish you were here waters was too full of himself to understand that the band was more important than he was….Also, I would say that when I saw Tool at Coachella, the sound was the best I had ever heard byh them ooutside of the Berkeley Community Theater, which seats around 2500, and I saw 5 Lateralus dates in CA. The sound guys certainly knew how to blast tool outdoors at Coachella.. However, I would say that they were a little too loud at the NY show in October, mind numbingly so. I dont know what… Read more »
I prefer David Gilmour than Roger Waters out of the two. However it’s been known lately that David Gilmour is the culprit now. Gilmour is the one who is stopping from pink Floyd to reunite as a full unit again(minus Syd barrett of course).
hellboy, I found DEUCEMAN’S experience at the Perth BDO , at toolnavy, worth checking out. He and his brother’s philosophies on TOOL fans, although generalizations,I found I agreed with.

Maybe I’m a bit more thick skinned than most, but I really didn’t think the Big Day Out crowds (nor most crowds) were really that bad. I just think sometimes though that people get very carried away with having a go at the audience, when perhaps they should have just been watching the show a little… Read more »
your always going to get a different type of punter at a festival to see TOOL than at a side-show. But I liked deuceman’s take on what sets TOOL fans apart from most others; before TOOL go on they have this single minded focus which includes the eyes locked on the stage, the jaw sets……..
Deuceman also describes TOOL fans as usually the fringe-dwellers of social groups, which appealed to me. Anyway I’m probably full of shit……
Some of the better footage I’ve seen, part 2 is the pick.
