In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Adam discusses the creative process, the potential for a Tool movie and the legal proceedings relating to Cam De Leon.
[In regards to the movie] “We all have ideas about it,” Jones says. “If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it. I think some of the other guys would like to do pockets of all of that or something that’s live or we’re playing. It’s just talk right now.”
Thanks to ype on Toolarmy and the Tool Hotline for the tip.
look actual news, I would love to see whatever they would put out. I like how they are thinking ahead so they don’t get trapped into one of those “VH1 behind the music” bullshit.
“I’d pay to watch it only if it didn’t take 14 years to make.”
Never knew there was bad blood with Cam De Leon and the band. Probably why they got Alex Grey again to do 10,000 Days. He sucks.

I KNEW it was coming. Started to look like there’d be no punchline but you delivered as always! You never disappoint, doors. You’re like the old guys from the Muppet Show. If you can’t sling a bit of mud in the process, don’t say anything at all.
I for one would love a Tool movie. I think presenting it in a very original way would definitely bring in more fans, though. The new Nine Inch Nails comes to mind as an example. Though I know thousands of us would jump on it regardless.
Personally, I’m not too excited about a movie. I’ll be interested in seeing it, and I’m sure it’ll be great, but I’d take a live DVD over the movie any day!
What kind of movie is he refering to? I would rather have a live dvd also…but we’ll probably get neither or at least have to wait 10,000 days for it.
The egos have landed.
I think they should finish the 6-minute Vicarious video before taking on a whole movie…

ohhhhh snap!
exactly my thoughts. exactly my thoughts
yeah no shit… talk talk talk.
Actually, what Adam said sounds a lot like what Led Zep did with The Song Remains The Same – which was quite a disappointment if you compare it to the awesome DVD they released some years ago. So I’d probably be more keen to see some good recorded live appearances (maybe some rare cuts with RATM/Rollins/Fripp/etc.?) then some artsy movie/live show mix. Actually, the more I think of it, Tool becomes more and more of a Led Zeppelin in slow-motion.. Hope they skip their version of In Through the Out Door, though. (Well, I’m ignoring the drummer-dies-in-a-puddle-of-his-own-puke bit for now… Read more »
