Poll Results: Which Tool album has the best sound?

The last poll asked which Tool album you think has the best sound. Not surprisingly Lateralus took the winners place, with 10,000 Days running a distant second. Unsurprisingly, not a single person selected Opiate! Personally, I think 10,000 Days has a much better sound that Lateralus, which I feel is sometimes a little to clean and crisp. Personally I prefer the dirtier sounds of 10,000 Days and Aenima to Lateralus,… Read More »Poll Results: Which Tool album has the best sound?

Good News, Bad News

Well today I have good news and bad news for you all.  Lets start with the good.  According to a recent MTV interview with Maynard at the Grammys, he claims that Tool will “start writing the new Tool record right away”.  Nice to have a short turnaround for a change.  If this is the case the I’d say we can expect a new album in about 12 months time. February Tool Newsletter 2008

  • Tool

Blair has posted the February Newsletter on Toolband/Army, which rejects claims that the last newsletters had any codes in regards to a Live DVD, new tour dates or a Tool movie.  He doesn’t flat out deny any of this either.  It also explains that members of Tool are currently: Watching basketball games, drinking (nay, producing) fine wine, playing Halo 3 with other members of the Halo Nation, eating McDonald’s at… Read More »February Tool Newsletter 2008

He asked them the obvious question: “When will… Read More »NZ Tour Rumours

New Tool Album in the works?

According to a Grammy-related Rolling Stone article I read this morning: and, to our extreme pleasure, Maynard James Keenan and drummer Danny Carey from Tool. Maynard promised a new Tool album, the though of which makes our Patron hangover much more manageable. That’s all there is…

Grammy’s Update

In what will come as a surprise to no one, the Foo Fighters won the Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy, not Tool. Update: Here’s a pic of Maynard and Danny – the Stylemaster!

Grammy’s Tonight (if anyone cares….)

Tool are up for an award at tonights Grammy Awards, with The Pot being nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance.  Tool are up against Evanesance, Foo Fighters, Queens of the Stone Age and Ozzy Obourne.  Though I’m sure we all think Tool should win, I imagine they might have a hard time against some of those acts, not to mention that many people would argue that The Pot is far… Read More »Grammy’s Tonight (if anyone cares….)

Tool – Special Guests Compilation

Scarletletterman from Toolarmy has put together a compilation ove live bootlegs with many of the guest musicians that have played with Tool over the years.  It seems pretty comprehensive to me, so grab a copy from Megaupload.  Big thumbs up! A loyal Fourtheye reader who would prefer to stay anonymous, today sent me a picture of his prized Adam Jones sculpture.  Looks like it was one of the props used in the Prison Sex video.  Enjoy it’s high resolution goodness by clicking on it!!
