On 93X Maynard said the following about a new Tool album:
Tool fans are dying to know, when will Tool be working together again? When asked, Maynard just shrugs it off, saying “when we know, everyone else will know.”
Keenan says real Tool fans should know that band politics are complicated — quote, “It’s like 60,000 meetings before we can even say that we’re pretty sure that we might have a meeting to discuss the possibility of having a meeting to talk about maybe possibly getting in and having a discussion about possibly getting in and starting to write about some stuff that might be writing toward the next…you know, it’s convoluted.”

Okay this is kinda dumb. Other bands have no problem getting together and putting an album out every couple of years, yet the process is too “convoluted” for tool? I can appreciate them wanting to take long breaks for the sake of the music, but blaming it on bureaucracy just seems stupid.
Yeah, I but I get the feeling that Maynard is the one who gets sick of taking long breaks and that’s why he’s making a joke out of the process. He is the one who got bored and made a whole bunch more music while he was waiting for the others…
yeah it seems annoying because we all want more and more new Tool songs because they are so awesome. But look what Maynard has done in the mean time… He’s done a lot of other cool musical projects that really show just how amazing he is as a singer/song writer. Actually, to me, Tool is mostly about Maynard… he is who I focus on most of all and with out him, I dont think the band would be as good as it is now.
