Tool playing Dallas?

Magnus emailed me another “radio station” confirmation today, this time for a Tool gig in Dallas, TX on the 24th 25th of July.  He also mentions that Tool are playing a smaller venue (6k) this time around, rather than the usual large venue (15-18k).  He didn’t mention the venue name, so hopefully this means something to those Texans out there.  Update: It’ll be at Nokia Theatre apparently.

Official confirmation to come soon I’d imagine.

Update: Apparently this show may actually be the 25th of July.  Once the date is officially confirmed expect another Fourtheye post!

Correction: The show is on July 25th. It will be at Nokia and tickets go on sale this Friday.

They announced the show on the jumbo screen last night at Edgefest. It’s the radio station’s summer concert.  There is still no mention of the concert on their site nor have they mentioned it again on air.

let’s just hope they put a limit on how many tickets you can buy.  I’ll never forget how mad i was when i couldn’t get tickets to SMU.

They’re “officially” announcing the show today at 5 PM (CST) and giving away tickets either today and/or Thursday before they go on sale to the public.

There is still no mention on the show on station’s or venue’s  site.

For those of you who remember having to cough up $350-400 for a ticket to the McFarlin/SMU show paid for the intimacy…not the sound.  Even though it’s sad and a result of where we’ve evolved as a ‘scalpers survive’ society, I’ve seen prices for this show for much more than that…Nokia is a little bigger and boasts a much better acoustic environment.  The Nokia show sold out in record time of course.  When I found out there was a private VIP Suite available (the last one) I snatched it up right away.  Now me and 16 of my closest friends are going… Read more »
