In a recent email from the Puscifer mailing list, Maynard announced that the Tasting Room at Caduceus is now open:
“Another in an endless series of complex puzzle pieces has fallen into place. We are many years away from our goal, but the opening of this tasting room is a very, very important step towards achieving those goals. Thank you all for your steadfast support.” – Maynard James Keenan

OH, Wow! This place is beautiful, brand new, and has some really delicious wines. The tasting room just opened this fourth of July weekend and I feel sooo lucky that I got to go there and check the place out.
Not only that, but judging from recent reviews, Maynie might want to do some quality control on his staff…
Don’t panic everyone! This is an old post which has been promoted to the forum because letemdi made a comment.
Technical Explanation: When the forum was added to the site, any posts that appeared on Fourtheye before that point in time sat in the Blog database. New posts added since that point in time automatically get both blog and forum posts generated, while older posts only appear in the forum as someone comments on them. Thanks for listening!
kittaan – 16 minutes ago  » ^ Ah, that explains it. The person posting on the main site doesn’t have a forum account, I take it? That’s why JUST the original post showed up here… Forum and Blog user accounts are one and the same. The problem was (s)he’s a new user. So what happens is: 1. User creates a post, this in turn triggers wordpress to “open” the thread inside the forum. 2. The WordPress goes “hey this is a new user, and all new user comments get set as to be moderated, so I’d better hide the post”.… Read more »
Speaking of James’ wine, does any know if it’s sold outside of his celler and the internet? I seem to remember reading somwhere that Whole Foods would start carrying it, but I’ve never seen it on the shelf.

They have it at several whole foods stores, not all though unfortunately. I also picked up a few bottles at a shop while in Denver for the RR shows.
This may help https://vino.caduceus.org/store_locator.php

No worries it might be worth it to order a few bottles from the tasting room. Probably only have a month or so before they stop shipping for the summer

Ehh, according to the website, the only wines availble for shipping at the moment are the Nagual de la NAGA or the Sancha. Not much of a choice.

Yeah, I saw that. I have a few friends in the local beverage distribution industry. I’ll have to check with them.

Got this from a mate for my birthday, haven’t cracked one yet. Have to find out where he got it from, was only a couple days delivery to Brisbane, Australia and apparently they have the others too.
There are companies in the US that will ship goods to Australia. They’re become more common as the Australian dollar is quite strong.
Generally you sign up, the assign you a mail box of some type, the you ship the order to that address and they forward it to your AU (or where ever you are) address. I’ve used ComGateway in the past to get goods that could only be delivered to US addresses.
No actually, no buts about it, it would ruin the wine.

I’m no expert on wine, so could you explain how travel would ruin it? Â By that logic wine should only ever be consumed direct from the barrel…Â

I’m sure direct sunlight and heat cause problems, though I doubt Caduceus would ship wine unpacked & sitting on the dashboard of the truck leaving the winery.
i’d like to sample a few then try and climb the ladder

OK then… went to my old friend Google and found this:

It’s definitely been open for years… not sure what email Hellboy got, but unless I’m missing something, it wasn’t accurate.

Alternatively if your feeling trusting then I have no doubt that there would be a number of Fourtheye readers willing to help out…
