James emailed me today with a link to Wired regarding a preview of the new Iron Man 2 movie that was shown at this years Comic-Con. Â According to the article the preview featured:
Shots of Russian bad guy Ivan Vanko (played by Mickey Rourke) hammering away on metal to make his Whiplash suit while a Tool song plays in the background, a brilliant soundtracking choice that with any luck will show up in the movie.
Will be interesting to see if the song makes it into the movie, and what song was actually used. Soundtracks are not something I’d associate with Tool, then again Adam is a big comic fan…

Just kidding, I don’t think a tool song will be in this movie. I heard a NIN song in the preview for T4, but alas no NIN in the actual movie, my guess is the same deal here.

I’m not sure anyone could confuse Puscifer with Tool. It’s likely it was a quick promo thrown together for the conference, and they just picked a track they thought would fit. I’ll be somewhat surprised if the song ultimately appears on the soundtrack

I was at the comic con and was there for the iron man 2 panel and can confirm that at least in the trailer, a tool song was played. It was 46 and 2, and what was weird was there was a very noticeable amount of gasps in the audience when the song was played. I have no idea if there were that many people in the crowd that were amazed to hear a tool song in a movie trailer, or if it was just that part of the trailer that excited people.
