Blair has released the August 2009 Tool newsletter. He talks about several things, including him being sick, Danny hosting a BBQ for the stage crew, Puscifer tour dates, and a list of events coming up. He also mentions that November 12th will be here soon (whatever that means).
He also talks about, and shows a picture of Danny’s new Gong.
Finally, he goes on to say “What do you think of that, Mr. Bottrill?”

Most likely answer is Blair posts about a trip to Area 51 or something like that.
Haha….Maynard comes out of the closet. I hope it’s something to do with album status, but don’t we all? But why would Maynard have to hold a day off of his Puscifer tour for Blaire to tell people about something album-related (or DVD or website related)?
Concerning Blaire’s “Seems a bit suspicious that there is no show on November 12th!” statement…why would the 12th be so important? There are many days where Puscifer has no dates.
Maybe it’s a surprise Tool gig.

I will be in Portland that day.
What I found odd was when Blair said “Seems a bit suspicious that there is no show on November 12th!” What could it possibly be that Puscifer is scheduling their tour around it? I don’t get it.

He will announce that the final Tool show will be on November 12th on my birthday, and they are only playing the Lateralus album all the way through. Thanks Tool. That will be the best present.
I don’t expect any news about a new album, especially with the new Puscifer dates being announced. I really like Puscifer but I would love a new Tool album though.

Yes! I mean…it was cool that they gave Massey another shot on the 10,000 days album but Lateralus was by far the best produced album of the entire catalogue….by faaaarrr the best. Very well mixed. I’m going to have to assume the 12th is the one of the days Maynard actually has free to hit the studio for his vocal tracks with Botrill.
Sylvia Massy? I don’t know of her being involved with 10,000 Days… I thought it was just Joe Barressi engineering and Tool producing. No?

That’s what I thought too… didn’t Massy even try to sue Tool a year or so afer Undertow??
Anyway, I really do hope they work with Bottrill again. Don’t get me wrong, 10K Days was an amazing album and Barressi did a good job on his part, but I just have a feeling Bottrill fits the band better than him and really knows how to bring out their best, as a group.
