Maynard Talks Puscifer Budget, DVD (not Tool!).

Maynard features in an article on Billboard this morning where he talks about how much Puscifer costs, as well as the possibility of a DVD:

Approaching the entire project more like a television performance troupe, Keenan says he hopes to release "Puscifer Season 1" later this year on DVD.

I think it was pretty much inevitable that we’d see a DVD of some of these performances, and I’m looking forward to seeing it.

Thanks to acousticphenomena for the tip.

I’m exited about this, it should be awesome. I hated puscifers first cd it was absolutely terrible. However the way it is played live makes it great. I am glad he is going in the right direction with actual songs such as polar bear. V is for vagina was a terrible nightmare with a fourty three year old trying to do rap stuff over horrible computer made rap tunes.

I think a live dvd compilation would be great for puscifer, considering the multiple stage productions that they performed with.

Personally, I feel that most Puscifer songs are lacking a certain quality trait that would push it into great music territory. However, the cover of Holiday on the Moon produces one of the most engrossing bass sounds I’ve ever heard. The last 3rd of that song is one pounding climax that just doesn’t seem to let go.

The live adaptations of some of the songs from the debut album have been awesome. Vagina Mine from the EP was a big surprise to me. I just loathed that track and everything about the way its produced, but when I heard the live version I fell in love with it right away. The guitars are cool too.

I like when Maynard sings like himself, instead of in that baritone that sounds like a robot. That was all over the V album, so I guess thats why I didn’t like it.
