Puscifer Announce Australian Dates!

vuduchild from Toolarmy emailed me today a leaked copy of an email from Frontier Touring:

Maynard James Keenan has a legacy of great music including hard rock acts Tool and A Perfect Circle, but recently he has focussed on his award winning Puscifer stage shows.  Frontier Touring are pleased to announce that Puscifer will make a series of exclusive performances around Australia in the month of August.

In a break from convention, this A is for Asstralia tour will play a range of intimate shows in the finest theatres and concert venues Australia has to offer.  These intimate shows feature completely different performances each night, and concert goers are encouraged to attend more than one show.

Musical guests for this tour include a rotating band featuring Tim Alexander (Primus),  Jonny Polonski, Gil Sharone (Dillinger Escape Plan), Dean Ween and Neil Hamburger.  Support for the tour will be Melbourne alt-country act ROOT!.

The dates for this once in a lifetime tour are:

  • August 10th Regent Theatre – Ballarat VIC
  • August 11th Regent Theatre – Ballarat VIC
  • August 13th Sydney Opera House – Sydney NSW
  • August 14th Sydney Opera House – Sydney NSW
  • August 17th Riverstage – Brisbane QLD
  • August 18th Riverstage – Brisbane QLD
  • August 20th Festival Centre – Adelaide SA
  • August 21st Festival Centre – Adelaide SA

A range of packages will be available for these events, ranging from booked seat, to VIP areas, and even a Wine Tasting Package presented by Maynard himself.  Tickets go on sale through Ticketmaster on the 31st of April.

Looks like that Tool album will be on hold for a little while longer, though I personally can’t wait to see Puscifer down under!  Sadly Perth fans get shafted again, as frequently seems to be the way with small tours like this.

Update: Just heard from my sources that Dean Ween isn’t available and this tour won’t go ahead :((((

Hmmm Well with regard to the next Tool album… yeah I suppose. But it’s only 2(ish) weeks. There is still all summer for…. SOMETHING to happen in the way of progress toward a new album. Then by September… who knows?
I realized the odds are stacked against me but… ill still hold out for a extremely late 2010 release. I guess part of me just wants them to shake up this “every 5 years” thing. ‘C’mon guys, lets do… 4 and a half.’

Haha!  I feel sorry for Asstralians.  You got their hopes up for about 30 seconds.  Greatest line has to be “award winning Puscifer stage show”… is this true or all part of the joke?

new album will be out 2011 – 10000 days vinyl will come out this year with the new album to follow year after. This follows usual pattern – Salival year before Lateralus and Lateralus vinyl year before 10000 days.  There will never be a live DVD as long as the band are still capable of touring…

admin – 9 hours ago  »  quite believable until the Ballarat part, buddy… better to try and fail then never to have attempted at all I was tempted to say Festival Hall true to my word, I’d of missed the show for sure… lucky for me, the venue would not be condusive to the type of theatrics maynie’s been pulling off with puscifer, so as doubtful as it would be for that project to travel this far, it’s even more unlikely he’d ever consider such a venue… Forum Theatre on the other hand… Ballarat’s actually kind of a cool, little… Read more »
