A new interview with Adam popped up today where he speaks with Rick Florino from Artist Direct. He talks about his art, his involvement in the recent X-Files comic and the idea of there being a Tool movie:
If the Tool story were to be made into a movie, who would be the perfect director for it, other than yourself of course?
(Adam) Wow, if it was made for TV, it would probably be Roger Corman. If it was a feature movie, it would probably have to be that German director Rainer Werner Maria Fassbinder, and it’d have to be in German with subtitles [Laughs]. I’m being positive but my life in Tool is exactly like Spinal Tap meets a Shakespearian play.So Spinal Tap meets Hamlet?
Exactly, but in a good way [Laughs]. I really love being in Tool. I love what we do and the result of everything. There’s a lot of dysfunction but, at the end of the day, it’s amazing.
Worth mentioning is that some of his art will be showing at the Alternative Press exhibition at the Merry Karnowsky Gallery in L.A, which opens on the 9th of July. According to the interview the piece on display will be the sculpture used for the Peach cover.
Thanks to Sampson for the tip!
Does every interview with the band or one of its members HAVE to start off with an adjective bloated paragraph that puts them on this enormous pedestal?

Good interview, though. I love Adam’s enthusiasm.
I was going to say the same thing about Adam’s enthusiasm. It is refreshing to see at least one member of the band enthusiastic! At least he still loves being a part of TooL.
Does anyone know when the comics will be available ?
wow, i thought the Peach cover’s skeleton was just a graphical stuff. (if that’s what you talk about)
I’m a huge fan of Phil Hale’s artwork, got a few books of his stuff. Had no idea that Adam was into him too! My avatar is one of his oil paintings in fact…
Good interview!

My understanding is the first issue of the X-Files stuff is already available.

In t00l lore.  I thought it was adam who wrote the tunes.     if this is true, could we assume that the lack of new material is mostly adams fault?
he didnt look all that enthusiastic at red rocks night 1.
whereas Justin, MJK, and Danny were going off.
just wonderin’…

They’ve always said, and i’ve always believed that everything Tool is a 4 way equal contribution as far as music is concerned. Nothing that is brought to the table by any one of them isn’t dissected by the other 3. So as hellboy said, it’s not fair to single anyone of them out. Besides they’ve repeated themselves over and over in saying, they like the long breaks between records because it allows them to go off and learn new things, have new experiences and grow a little bit. That way, the meeting in the middle that is Tool, will be… Read more »
I love this part. So true…  “Right! That’s why I think it’s so important that children take art and music classes early on because it really develops a three-dimensional manner of thinking. When they get to algebra, it starts taking form instead of just going, “Okay, I’ll study this, but I don’t get it.” Then you instantly forget it. You have to have that three-dimensional thinking. There’s something harmonic to how we learn, what we take in, what we have to know, what we’re passionate about and all of that stuff. I guess it’s along that same concept of… Read more »

Ha, what?
I was row 28 at red rocks.     and have seen them 20 times?!? he looked bored. that’s all…. doesn’t mean I’m gonna sell the pristine vinyl or anything :O)
Fair enough, I disagree – I think his body language has been pretty much consistent with every show I’ve seen.  In my opinion Adam is generally the least “enthusiastic” of them all on stage anyway. As to there being an extreme lack of recorded output – I can’t really argue with that I suppose, but why does it even matter?  Except to your wallet, what difference does it make to… Read more »
Anybody find a website selling these comics yet? It says July 14th is release date.
