I’m pretty interested in seeing that doc. Looks like it will be quite good.
Anybody else who recently watched that Undertow-era footage appreciating the evolution of Maynard? He seems a bit more refined these days, but he remains a funny little fucker. And I agree, he has a singular voice in rock music. One that has lasted the test of time, and will continue to be a staple for me for decades. to come

Pirate it and then buy it when it becomes available locally? A new Tool album is always going to leak online before its released at retail, you better believe I’ll download it but that won’t prevent me from buying it on release. Not just Tool, I do this with many bands, I don’t see this dvd as being any different. Personally, I’m not that interested in the documentary so I don’t know if I’ll watch it. Though I am interested in vine so learning a bit about viniculture couldn’t hurt. I’m sure a Fourth Eye review and recommendation will follow… Read more »

Good God, the interviews with the “fans” were so painful to watch. Are Tool fans really that fucking stupid? It’s a rhetorical question. “He’s probably the biggest genius in the world”. I agree…you have just met the man himself, then being put in front of a camera and being asked dumb questions would probably make most people look like a dickhead. All the tool fans I have met are generally just everyday people of all ages.

If they died and couldn’t make music, so what? It would suck as we wouldn’t hear any new material, but, life goes on. And as I don’t know them personally, it’s even less of a reason to care.
I have an interest in Tool simply because of the music. I don’t care what they do in their spare time/whatever, I only care about what music they make.
And Maynard isn’t the only member of Tool, the other guys are just as important to make Tool what it is.

I can’t seem to grasp English today. My, my, hellboy, such language.
I think it’s hard for fans to look past the musicians behind tool. People care about who they are and what they think because of the influence (big or small) the band has on their lives. I know that I enjoy watching interviews with the band, and checking out artwork from the tool crew etc, but all in all it is the music that is most important.
The two thing that get me down about this film are 1. I pre-ordered mine before it was offered on blu-ray, and b. I have yet to find the right bottle of wine to drink while watching it for the first time.
In the emails that I received, they said you could upgrade to blu-ray if you had already pre-ordered.
the emails i received said the same thing. i think it was like 10 bucks more or something. those things should finally be here soon.
it was nice of them to let us watch it on our computers though. i think i still have a view left.

I would imagine it would be a pretty trivial thing to change your order. Just send them an email. I’ve emailed the Blood Into Wine people a couple of times and they’ve always responded quickly and come across as quite friendly. I’m sure they’d help you out.
