Blair’s August Tool Newsletter is now out. I’m not sure how long it’s been up since I’ve been without power for the last couple of days! I’ve only briefly read it, but it appears to revolve around an email he received from a Tool fan looking for somewhere to stay in LA. No doubt there are many codes and mysteries contained within that I expect you all to analyse and report back to me within 24 hours….
As an addendum to this, it would appear that the September newsletter may have some good news for fans down-under. Rather conveniently the next newsletter would be released just after the Big Day Out lineup for 2011 is announced, which I guess gives more creedance to the “leaks” I’ve had suggesting Tool are BDO-bound.
Also, Tool appeared in the Herald Sun today in the rumours list, which also included Soundgarden, Mark Ronson, Eminem and Grinderman.
My best guess is that it went up between 5:00 and 6:00 pm Pacific Time. About 14 or 15 hours ago. I’m sure it wasn’t up when I posted the fake one, and I remember checking shortly after that. Then Royal posted that it WAS up. I still like mine better.
I’d concur with the idea that blair is still hinting at some Aussie/NZ dates, as well as a Hawaii date based off this remark…
“that overgrown ash-heap in the Pacific where Mai-Tais are plentiful”

Have they got many fans in Hawaii?
“Private Tool website”?
Big Day Out with Soundgarden and Tool headlining would be awesome.

They better come to Hawaii, they were supposed to come in ’07 but Danny hurt his arm. I have been waiting to see them again since Maynard said we’ll see you soon in August of ’06 and I was in the front row.
Can’t wait for them to come back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aren’t most Tool websites private?

TOOL COME BACK TO HAWAII!
Hey, I live in Hawaii! Since I’ve moved here not a single one of my fav bands have set foot here. I’ve missed SOOO many concerts on the mainland this past year. Of course, if and when Tool comes I’ll be off island for some reason no doubt. Maybe I should sacrifice a virgin into the volcano!

I suspect the reason we didn’t get a second 10k Days tour in Oz was due to Danny’s injury. I have a theory that Tool may be contracted to the Big Day Out organisers… Read more »

Which island are you on?
You know where they never been to? Russia. I’m waiting for their concert here for 10 years now, not even a chance of it happen.
They’ve been in eastern europe in 2006 i guess, but i had no money back then to visit it. Their live concert become my sickets dream.

I hear you! Unfortunately Tool tend to play it safe when touring, and never seem to hit the more out of the ordinary places like Russia or South America. I have my fingers crossed for you though!
i would love to see them in brazil.
tool for down under looking more and more likely. i’m stooooked.

The question is, when they do finally come, how do we clamber over everyone else and get definite great tickets? I’m willing to pay big money because I save specifically for these kinds of things.. I honestly would pay more than $300 a ticket even for face value, let alone secondary-market inflated prices. I’m sure Tool realise they could charge that kind of money right off the bat and still sell out venues. Thoughts?

what does mikeywheels.com have to do with anything…?
Got a pic of a Tool shirt, but seems to be a site under construction.
enok – 5 hours ago » what does mikeywheels.com have to do with anything…? Blair’s mentioned Mikey Oliveri and his website before. I know Mikey was trying to raise funds at one point for help with his condition, or van, or wheelchair (and may still be accepting donations), although now I seem to recall Mikey mentioning something about problems with taxes and accepting donations. Although, maybe I’m just making all of this up. I’m sure if you contacted him though his site he’d provide some answers though. Just think it’s Blair be a cool guy and throwing some love to… Read more »
In the about section, it just said that he was friends with Danny and Blair. Don’t know anything else.
No doubt any Big Day Out side shows in Sydney and Melbourne will sell out in the same time they did last time around (about 5 minutes). I just hope my seat this time around is marginally better than the one I have in 2007, which was directly in front, but literally in the very back row of the Entertainment Centre.
The Entertainment Centre show in ’07 was unreal. My mate and I flew over from NZ in the afternoon, went to the gig and then roamed the streets until a 5am flight back to NZ. Probably… Read more »
I’ve been trawling around the internet today looking at Big Day Out rumours, and stumbled across this site containing this quote: Both are coming to NZ, you’re gonna have to trust me because I dont have any links to any sources. But the vector arena crew told me they have one of those acts booked for a show next year. The other IS playing BDO. I won’t say who, but it should be plain. Also both would never play BDO on the same bill. The both he’s talking about I believe are Soundgarden and Tool. Soundgarden has been talked about… Read more »
Please dont crucify me but I thought that was Blairs best ever newsletter – certainly the funniest! Anyway I dont think Tool would go all the way to NZ without a new album and that means a new album before the end of this year? Cant see it… maybe a APC…

after moving all the way from Wellington to London, I really thought I would see tool here, well before they went back to NZ! WTF! Really good if they do go down under, but a bit sad for all the fans back home who will see them at a festival again, and not a proper venue…unlike back in 02…what a show that was! Anyway, hurry the f up and get back to London, two shows please!
