THE ASTOR THEATRE, ST. KILDA
Melbourne’s historic Astor Theatre, built in the 1930s, has a unique element of elegance and art-deco charm within its walls, providing a perfectly warm atmosphere for Alex and Allyson Grey to showcase their work through a variety of mediums.
The Astor Theatre is a cinema in the grand, old manner. The theatre’s proud boast is Fine Films and Atmosphere and the varied programme and “old-world” charm reflect this. When you walk intoThe Astor you are transported back to the days when going to the cinema was an EVENT

Makes the idea of coming to Melbourne a little more attractive, though I’m still waiting for a sideshow before I make that decision.

Thanks to Terry for the tip!

when you travel with any sort of art work on a size scale that a lot of pieces are, it’s a tour… packaging, shipPing and the anxiety involved in moving stuff you’ve got so much ownership of is quite stressful… a trek unto its own

Yeah I think I’m more happy about this than any other aspect abt of the whole Tool tour.  Astor is just down the road from my house & I already have some Alex Grey swag.  And this is the whole day vs just a couple of hours for Tool.  Timing is perfect, Tool play Big Day Out the following day – its going to be a ripper weekend.
