Blair has confirmed the two Tool solo shows in Australia next year on Toolband:
CONFIRMED:
JANUARY 24 – BRISBANE at ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE
FEBRUARY 2 – MELBOURNE at MYER BOWL
TICKETS GO ON SALE NOVEMBER 4TH.
I believe the on-sale date is not the 4th of November, but will actually be the 8th as advertised on the Big Day Out site. However neither of the dates appear on Ticketmaster or Ticketek, so we can’t be sure until they do. Either way, once the date is confirmed I will post the information here.
I’m expecting that these will be the only two solo shows this tour. Those holding out for a New Zealand or Sydney date are probably going to be disappointed…
From the BDO post:
…These are the ONLY Australian TOOL side shows outside of the Big Day Out dates. Tickets go on sale for both shows on Monday, 8 November, 2010…
Everyone: Give up on Sydney. New Zealand is still an outside chance though.

The odds of a NZ show are pretty tiny I’d think. Â I would have expected it to be announced the same time as the other solo shows if it was going to happen…

That’s true, although it is odd that BDO would specify that they are the only Australian shows apart from the BDO dates.
you’d think they would do a solo in auckland tho eh, be the first time in nearly 10yrs. and justin did say “new zealand is right up there” in his recent interview. man im holding out hope but yeah it is looking increasingly unlikely….
Why is anything unlikely at this point? I just don’t see how you could
have even a clue what they are going to do in a few months from now…

Does this mean Hawaii is a no go?

Venues require a certain amount of notice to book a show. So they book them a few months in advance, usually. If that’s the case, then we’re getting awfully close for them to book, announce, and set up ticket sales for an additional show, should there be one. Tool can’t just show up at Auckland and after the BDO show, just say “Hey let’s do a sideshow!”. Doesn’t work.
