Tool on Video Hits, A Perfect Circle on Kimmel

Stumbled across a tweet today from the Big Day Out feed, which mentioned the following:

VIDEO HITS are doing a 1/2 hour TOOL special this Sat night at 1.20am (technically 1.20am Sunday 31st Oct) – tune in!! #VideoHitsTV #Tool

Video Hits is an Australian music show, which mainly features Top 40 type music, so will be interesting to see what actually appears.  I guess it’ll just be their videos, but I’ll set up the recorder anyway.

A Perfect Circle made their first live appearance on many years on the Jimmy Kimmel show tonight, playing Weak & Powerless for the show, and also Judith and Passive for the lucky members of the audience:

APC on Jimmy Kimmel’s show

Sounds pretty good to me.  What are your opinions of the performance?

Yeah it was good.. thought maynard could have put a bit more into it as it sounds like he did with the other couple songs on youtube. Very strange video hits will be doing a Tool special, I wonder if Danny and Maynard or the other boys will go on Rage again when come to Aus.

There’s gonna be some lack of vocal chemistry when you go 7 years without performing on a regular basis.  You’re also going to sing flat on your own when you’re out of practice.  Quite normal.  Besides that, awesome performance.  I’d just like to see them hit the east coast

After watching the guys perform on Kimmel, I felt so teased! Would have been nice to finish watching “Imagine” being performed.  Just means that I really look that much more forward to seeing them next weekend perform.  The guys seemed as though they were into it.  Matt n Billy were really moving around.  Can’t wait to hear/see what’s in store for us!!  One can tell that MJ is getting “tired of screaming”.  Don’t blame him…I am, too…   ;]

Unrelated to the post. But for people who went to Tool sideshows last tour, was there a ticket limit per person on ticketmaster? I may be buying tickets for me and 3 friends and wanted to know if this was a possibility. Thanks

This was a shameful performance in my opinion. Maynard did not seem into it for obvious reasons. I mean how insulting, on a stage with Bud Light advertisements, on some cheesy talk show, with Hilary Duff. Poor Maynard, having to exploited in such a horrible way. It was probably the record labels idea.

I’m surprised MJK still wants to play Judith considering the opening old wounds/scabs comments he’s made in regards to Tool songs in recent times. Judith is such a vicious song, but I’m heartened he still wants to play it, it’s one of my favourite APC songs.

The way I see it, Judith (the song) isn’t about his mom so to speak. it is more about those that act all morally superior as if they were model christians,… Read more »

i was happy to see them back together for sure, but i too was a bit disappointed. (oh how easy it is for me to complain while i’ll create nothing). weak and powerless is not one of my favorites by any means, but on top of that is has to be nailed to sound good. it has so many notes that really expose maynards weaker areas, and billys too. especially after some of the teaser clips, and just knowing what they can do live. i just thought if you’re putting yourself on national tv again why not WOW them. let… Read more »

they have to play judith. you can’t play the entire mer de norms w/o it. even though they did not have to play that on kimmel though.

Video on Hulu.  I got the option to watch a 2:47 commercial for episode without commercials. Kimmel pre-introduces APC at 31.56.  Enjoy.

Re: Judith
Of course it’s not a literal dig at “Judith” It’s just I could understand if the dude didn’t want to perform the song anymore.
He still wants to = colour me impressed.

Yeah they butchered Schism and I didn’t care for the host. I couldn’t figure out if he was just pretending to like Tool, or he was just that gay of a fan.

I actually went to the show.  I didn’t think it was great at all, pretty boring in my opinion and I’m a big fan.  The crowd wasn’t really into it either and the acoustics were horrible.  It was great seeing the band back together.
