Sianspheric sent me an email today telling me that a friend of his noticed the following in a press release regarding the Canadian Music Week festival on Toronto in March:
- Adam Jones (Tool) / Saturday March 12 / Trinity St Paul’s / 7:00pm (A World premiere multimedia presentation) – Tickets on sale Friday, January 14 at 10am.
Your guess is as good as mine as to what it’s about. Maybe a new side project, or the unveiling of a much speculated one? Perhaps something to do with the Y Incision project, which coincidentally nxrm pointed out has had an update, including this vague statement:
Lastly, we are hoping to soon announce a music component to these packages that I am very excited about, but we have a few details to work out first. Trust me when I say, it’s huge and cool as fucking hell.
Maybe itll be the premier of The Pot!
I’m confused. It sounds interesting, but I’d have my reservations about it being something as auspicious as a video for The Pot. Seems unlikely to me. But we shall see.

The whole nano-guitar thing sounds ridiculous.

Yeah, multimedia pretty much gives it a way a little. It will be music + something. Unlikely to be traditional paintings, so my money would be on a music + comic (ie the Y incision) or music = some kind of video. Perhaps a movie soundtrack or something?
Not to get anyone’s hopes up too high, but The Pot video is quite likely as I remember him saying before that it would be in 3D and he’d want to premiere it i.e. a film. It being ‘multimedia’ media and all, it’s very likely. If it was Y incision I think they’d put more emphasis on the comic artists and have Adam Jones surprise everybody, unless they’re trying to rake in the publicity. But hey, what the fuck do I know 😛

Hey guys, Yeah a friend who works in the music press here in Toronto forwarded me the CMW Press Release email, it looks pretty legic. CMW and NXNE (Toronto’s answer to SXSW) often have guest speakers, keynote addresses, media presentations, multimedia things so this isn’t really uncommon. Still haven’t seen anything on ticketmaster.ca yet. I called the CMW media rep and she suggested that a few of the local record shops who sell tickets for many of the CMW events should be selling tickets. Rumor has it that the album is done but is waiting on artwork and marketing plans. I just wonder if it’ll be released before or after the grape harvest. Either way, fuck yeah!

Oh. I did hear a rumor about this. I heard it was limited to 99 copies at $99 and they were sold on the demo tool army site this past Christmas. Should have been there man.
