Just got an email from imbread_love_child who sent me a link to the Boonstock Music Festival website, and it looks like A Perfect Circle will be headlining one of the days. The rest of the lineup looks pretty terrible, but at least there’s one act worth seeing! The festival itself is late June, early July 2011, and there doesn’t seem to be any information on what day APC are playing.
Presumably we might see some more dates trickle down to us in the coming weeks…
Update: From A Perfect Circle’s Twitter feed
Stand by for the announcement of summer dates around North America.
for Dan
Wow, you weren’t kidding. I would hate to have to pay festival prices and have to sit thru those bands just for APC. I would hate it, but I’d do it. lol.
This is more of a philosophical question, and probably one meant for a separate thread, but what makes music terrible?
^ personal opinion (and often, a bit of poor taste)… and don’t forget lip syncing always spoils integrity
It’s all personal opinion of course, but really, Three Days Grace and Sublime? Were Sublime even any good before their singer topped himself?
I hope they decide to hang with the hipsters in Williamsburg for an NYC gig… most likely they will hit the bowery ballroom instead.

With Kings of Leon presumably out of the equation I guess there’s always a chance. Â Not sure APC have the popularity to headline Coachella though to be honest.
I doubt it.
@ Contraption – That nearly got a chuckle out of me, and would have if it wasn’t so true… and so sad.

With Kings of Leon presumably out of the equation I guess there’s always a chance.  Not sure APC have the popularity to headline Coachella though to be honest. Coachella is crap this year and I am going…… not putting a hex on KOL, but I would rather APC (obviously) than them……. there is no real heavy acts. Death From Above 1979 is alright….. Gogol Bordello, and One Day As A… Read more »
Note the update I just made to the main article regarding North American tour dates!
I thought Day 3 of Coachella sounded alright. Days 1 and 2 were pretty sparse though…

It should be a blast regardless…… I guess. Sorry for strayin off topic, But APC would be put the cherry on top!
not that I’m ovely fussed about it… I truly dig APC and I’m happy fo all of my friends I left in the states if they do tour, but shouldn’t maynie be working on a new TOOL record?!
Same here. I laughed internally for a second, before a sense of sadness overcame me. The only thing missing was “sponsored by $5 energy drink company”.

Let’s not forget that these festivals aren’t until July. Â If Tool/Maynard want to make an album happen, then they will have plenty of time to do so before then.

Edmonton is the asshole of Canada and “Gibbons” is 60kms up it. The line-up is shit…. I mean 3 Days Grace and the rest’o the wannabe Nickleback fucks are lame… Read more »
“Stand by for the announcement…” Does that mean a few minutes, hours?

Depends on who’s doing the announcement. Â If it’s Maynard then it’s only lunch time here in Oz.
oh yeah, good point. and its only 6:00 out in LA
Interesting.
So to paraphrase Justin in the Triple J interview last week, they turned down a lot of offers this year to tour to concentrate on the album – apparently Maynard didn’t get that memo :p
Maynard will have a lot of time between now and the APC tour to work on the album. I also imagine that the apc tour may only last a few weeks…
dont hate hellboy. sublime was great.. and i cant believe you put them in the same category as three days grace lol that bands a special kind of shit..
Sorry sublime5446, nothing will ever convince me Sublime were a good band…
I wouldn’t call them a GREAT band, but Sublime had significantly more credibility than TDG. Granted, Sublime with some other dude… that’s debatable.

The original Sublime was a good band with only one really good solid album, with the new singer, not so much…

Just going to have to wait it out for the UK then aye…c’mon give us something! (alongside SOAD at download)
Oh and with regards to One Day As A Lion which was mentioned above, I see they are playing at Soundwave, what a cool line up that has! Would have crossed the ditch for that if I was still in NZ! Anyone going??

I’d like to see One Day As A Lion however Slayer and Kylesa are playing at the same time, so we’ll see about that. Â To be honest ODAAL’s music doesn’t really do much for me so they’re not a high priority, however they are on immediately before Queens of the Stone Age so chances are I’ll catch at least the last song or two.
