As I predicted a little while back, A Perfect Circle were today announced as part of the Lollapalooza lineup for 2011. A Perfect Circle seem to be one of the second tier acts, and other bands joining them on the three day festival include Foo Fighters, Ween, Muse, Deftones, Death From Above 1979 and The Cars. Overall it seems like a quite reasonable lineup, and much lighter on shitty metal than other festivals they’re playing.
According to the website, the only tickets left are 3-Day passes, so I hope you had the foresight to get an earlybird ticket if APC are legitimately the only band you fancy on the lineup…
Looks like they are also playing the Kanrocksas Festival in Kansas City. August 5 and 6. Haven’t announced which date they are playing yet…

If we were driving to RR from Ohio we would be there for sure, but we are probably flying. Even though that would make the drive across Kansas worth it
Not sure how they will divide the set times. 3 days + 2 headliners/night = 6 headliners. APC is the 7th band listed, unless they put Deadmau5 in Perry’s tent (I don’t know why they didn’t). If Deadmau5 doesn’t play with the other DJs, then APC may have a shorter setlist.
They will also probably release single day tickets when they release the set times. I think that’s how they did it last year.

Kansas and Illinois are by far the 2 worst states to drive in, then South Dakota. Hoping they play KC Friday, STL Saturday, and Lolla Sunday. Kanrocksas says they will put up single day tickets once the lineups are set

i bought a single day ticket for friday. looks like i’ll go from apc to crystal castles then back for muse. i really can’t stand muse but my friend won’t shut up about how good they are live so we’ll see. i was really hoping deftones would be playing the same day as apc 🙁

Muse were pretty good when they opened for Tool back in 2007. Not sure how good they are these days though…
Agree with Hellboy. As a double act Muse followed by Tool in 07 was the best concert experience I’ve ever had. I’ve seen Muse live several times now to me they are like Queen do grunge. I loved Queen and I loved grunge. Seriously I reckon you’d have to be pretty determined not to hear something good in a Muse set.
