As Billy predicted in numerous interviews, A Perfect Circle played a new track at last nights show called By And Down. Those interested in listening to it can do so via the powers of Youtube:
By And Down
The show last night seemed like an interesting affair, and I won’t elaborate any further in order to not spoil it for those wanting to be surprised. On that note I’d like to remind people to keep setlist spoilers only in the appropriate show thread inside the forum.
doesn’t do it for me.
I love it. Here’s to hoping they release a studio version when the tour wraps up.
Nice blend of styles of their past work and sounds like a step in the right direction for a future release (in contrast to eMOTIVe should’ve sounded like).
This song would’ve been pants-soaking song to hear/see when they came to the Avalon a few months ago, however, not that that show wasn’t awesome enough. I can’t wait to hear it again once it goes through production/mastering.
I thought the new song sounded pretty awesome. Hit the spot. So what else made last nights show an interesting affair?
Love it. Can’t wait to see them in Boston in a few weeks!
Damn. I had been avoiding seeing any kind of stills/photos of the shows til the St. Paul show but I just came here and this video still is right in my face. Major spoiler. At least I won’t watch it though.
Nevermind. I just have to watch this. Thanks Hellboy.
A picture of the video spoils it for you? Come now let’s be serious…
That they played a new song should come as no surprise to anyone who reads Fourtheye.
Dunno if i liked it… Sounded very, I dunno.
Like someone complaining loudly in a public toilet.
Studio version please.
I was generally hoping to keep the stage set-up and appearance a surprise until the actual show like I had with Puscifer, but with all the magazine articles that are coming out for the tour and pictures, I didn’t think it be possible. As for the song, sounds very operatic, more low-key then… Read more »
With you on that. Hardly worth listening to that noise.
if you dont get it, wait for better sound. saw it live the last 2 nights and it is a powerful tune when it sounds good.
Yes I agree! Is a totally different feel live. The crappy recording doesn’t give it justice or show exactly what it’s all about. I can’t wait to read the lyrics
that track really doesn’t do it for me, it has the APC vibe, but to me it sounds like the song is dragging on. I’d have to see the lyrics to really appreciate it..
Wow surprised at the negative comments, for what is a very shitty video, I thought it had a good feel. Agree with the nice blend of the previous styles, and it is def a step in the right direction. We also have to remember this is the first time it was played live and songs do evolve before they get to the studio; just look back at 95 shows with Pushit and Aenima.
Okay, after the first couple of listens I was really disappointed and thought it was terrible. But now I have to say it actually sounds pretty good…
I reserve judgement
I need studio version
In order to tell

I don’t get the negative comments so far. This video/song brings a lot of good news and, to me, a really good song.
Due to interviews I’ve been worried about Maynard’s voice and how it’ll sound on the Tool-album but judging from this video he’s holding up well.
apologise for the spoiler..totally forgot about that.
Okay, so which one of you computer nerds have taken the song and made it into an mp3 version? And whoever did, hook a brother up.
Here’s one. Hopefully we’ll get a good flac taping up soon.

Nice, thanks for the hook up.
Thanks!
I’m waiting for the 8-bit version.
I’m waiting for vinyl.
Ah yes good old Nintendo, I do have an 8 track player though!
You can never judge a song just from hearing it live. You have to hear the studio version to get all the nuances, feel the full effect, and hear everything in tune and on key like it’s supposed to be. It’s really hard to appreciate a song without having a studio version as a baseline for your understanding of how it should sound. I’ll reserve judgment.

I can’t download that for some reason. Can someone please send that file to my email? I’d really appreciate it. madpsilo@yahoo.com I absolutely need this on my ipod as soon as possible.
Here you go.
Why can’t you download? Click the link and wait like 20 seconds then click “Regular download.” Check your email, I just sent it to you.
i know that some folks within the 2 main bands on this website are really against recording the shows, and for them i am sorry. but i tell you, it is pretty cool to be sitting at home 2 days after a concert that you really enjoyed immensely, and find a recording of the ENTIRE thing that i can pop into my favorites for my own viewing pleasure any time i please. and for free! for those of you that have not figured it out yet, the entire show is there, and the quality is better than average. kind of… Read more »

i also went to the Portland show, and thought i was pretty special for being amongst the first people to hear the new song, only to see it posted after i slept for a few hrs. i no longer felt very special…..lol
therein lies the problem! every live event has become cheapened cos of phones. its no longer special to say “I was there” cos everyone was there in their minds-eye!
i think the phones are for the better esp. high quality bootlegs. i does not cheapen it, so what you know you were there.
Has anybody written down a setlist? I saw one…but I’m praying to God that it’s not right.

There are plenty of setlists to be found in the forums.
Long time reader, 1st or 2nd post ,….. I am SOOOOOO unhappy with the setlist. Going to see them at the Greek in Berkeley.About me,… Seen Tool 9 times since Undertow,..1st time seeing APC.
Please everyone, let’s try and keep this comment thread spoiler free. As I mentioned about there is an area on the forum suitable for spoilers regarding the setlist.
