Tom emailed me today a link on Amazon which contains a short sample of the song Man Overboard by Puscifer, as well as the associated artwork. According to the page the single should be available on the 19th of July.
As you should all know by now, Man Overboard is the first single from the new Puscifer album Conditions of My Parole, which is due in October.

Anywho, I’ll reserve judgment until June 19. I have faith though. I love the vocals in ‘Indigo Children’ and this seems to be using the same effect.

I don’t think that’s supposed to depict Napoleon…Maynards arms look crossed to me, not the classic Napoleon pose of the hand in the jacket plus the lyrics from the clip along with the name of the song would lend itself more to a naval history…but what the hell do I know. I figured it out. I listened to the sample and it really sounds like he is reverting to the V is for style based on the vocals. I know this will rock live however as someone mentioned, puscifer needs to take their live energy/sound and pit it on a record. I felt they were able to do that with C is for. However this new song sample sounds like a step back towards the early stuff you couldn’t stand on cd but loved live. Potions and The Humbling River are two (of many) great Puscifer songs that don’t really come across as very comical or tongue-in-cheek as some of the other songs, in my opinion.

puscifer does have a few good songs, and i was really excited about the project in the early days ( ex. rev 22:20 ), being a big fan. but for me most of its not the kind of thing that one would intentionally listen to when they want to hear good music. maybe its just me. im not hating on any of you puscies though, have at ‘er!

I am a huge fan of Puscifer and I just can’t understand the hate. The concert I went to last year was something I am never going to forget. They took second half of the show very seriously and it was a damn good rock show. Potions is one of the best songs Maynard has ever written in my opinion. Momma Said is pretty damn great as well. I guess Puscifer is just for people seeking something different and I think it really shows Maynard’s musical range. Tool, APC and Puscifer all sound very different from each other.
