Let Bob Douche you again!

Bob is back with part 2 of his douchey videos.  Not sure why Maynard is releasing this Puscifer Season 1 tour videos now, but perhaps it’s a sign that a DVD is getting closer:

Enjoy!

I just don’t find this very funny or entertaining. Maynard thinks people who participate in organized religion are asses and sheep. Ok. He doesn’t need a two minute juvenile “comedy” video to say that. The whole harping on religion thing is way overdone.

Except when the show for that evening’s concert is a religion themed one. There are a few themes for Puscifer concerts, religion (or, mocking religion, rather) is one of them.

Organized religion itself is “way overdone” and much deserving of ridicule. Shine a light on the absurd, point out the contradictions, ask the hard questions. It’s all good. If “religious” people are offended by this, all the better. I’m offended by much of their rhetoric and have been exposed… Read more »

I don’t remember if I said this in the last Douchebag thread or not, because I drink too much. I appreciate the ‘message’ of these videos quite a bit, but the juvenile comedy comes on a bit strong. I don’t find it especially funny. But I love anything criticizing religion.

This is one is a little more funny than the first, but I think ResJudicata summed up what I was thinking very well.

I think it was intended to be absolutely ridiculous and absurd because that is exactly what religion is.

O.k…Since a lot of you are worshippers of Maynard, Im gonna say it…Fuck Maynard, and his religious hypocrisy.  I like tool and the music, but his dedication to flaming and ridiculing a christian or a christian beliefs is getting very old.  Just as he is tired of religions and the pushing of agendas, he is doing the same exact thing indirectly.  Why cant I, or He, or she, whoever they might be, worship God, or Jesus…or whoever they wish, without having some person (a vocalist for a popular rock band, or an important actor etc), fucking with them about… Read more »

^^Ever stop to think that what people do “in the name of their god” are just acts of violence carried out by people? It’s fucking humans man, we’re the problem here. We’ll do anything in the name of violence it seems. It doesn’t take a ghost to bring out rage, it will come one way or another. We as primates are still just scurrying across this rock we call earth and each and every last one of us pretends to have it all figured out so we have an unquenchable thirst to let other people know and violence seems to… Read more »

I actually meant to be “humorous” in my comment however it might have come off as dead serious with the f-bomb I dropped.

The only ‘agenda’ Maynard pushes on people is to think independently instead of following something blindly because that’s the way you’ve been forced to think.

It’s all a choice…nobody is being “forced” to believe or follow, it’s an Independent choice. Some people “choose” to be a christian, and some people don’t. Religious people are thinking independently, by choosing to be Christians, just like maynard proposes!

Amazingly Tool fans have to have it beaten into their heads time and time again, think for yourself.

Think for yourself.

Actually think.

Think about what you are saying, where it’s coming from, is it basically verbatim what someone else said yet due to your highschool education and essay doing you can put it into your own words?

That ain’t thinking.

Think for yourself.

Send more money.

Giving up already? I definitely think it’ll happen, it’s just a matter of when. M’s a busy guy. He hasn’t had time to focus on anything other than APC for a while but now that they’re done touring, he can start working on Puscifer and Tool stuff. I predict we’ll get a Puscifer DVD towards the end of the year.

Why is religion still such a touchy subject for people? It has served it’s purpose in unifying people and creating society, but now we have to let go, move on, and accept that it was merely a guideline to show people how to live peacefully. There are other ways to get in touch with your spirituality and religion definitely isn’t one of them.

Man, I fucking love the guy’s music but his comedy sucks. Juvenile humor can be funny but his always comes off like he tries way too hard. Maybe its a different beast in the context of a Puscifer show but the web & promo stuff just makes me shake my head.

Good point Polarbear_15. For myself I try not to acknowledge it because I find it lessens my opinion of the intellects involved.
Absolutely I find all forms of this imaginary, supernatural mumbo jumbo to be equally unworthy, and subjects I choose not to ponder.

You should start it. The last one appears to have stalled. It seems most of the best debates do appear to arise naturally. But do go for it, particularly if you are prepared to argue on the mumbo jumbo side. 😀

Why would anyone bother to make an official statement about something as intangible as the beliefs of TooL? Thelema is not a religion, you could barely call it organized, and if they were to come out and say “We subscribe to the ancient practices of magick most recently popularized by the scottish occultist Aliester Crowley” it would probably put off a whole section of society who do subsribe to mainstream religious thought. Which, you could argue is the target audience of the “think for youself” (do what thou wilt) message. So, short of coming out and being denounced as devil… Read more »

Those are the people that are too fucking stupid to be making their own decisions. The very statement “think for yourself” is a paradox. Some people clearly don’t get the “message”.
