Fans upset by non-Tool news should turn away now!
Anyway, people who like The Melvins, will also like this Pro-shot gig recently uploaded to Youtube. It was recorded in France, but don’t hold that against them:
The Melvins live at Hellfest, France 2011
It’s a great recording and I suggest you find the time to watch it!
I never really considered myself a Melvins fan, but this is bloody fantastic. You may have sparked a new love, thank you.Â
Yes, this is amazing… good to see some new shit mixed in with the old shit.
Is that Kirk Windstein in the background?
I just wish I had listened to these guys more before I saw them open for tool, didn’t know the tracks, but boy there played a mental set. Thanks for the upload HB!

Yeah, that’s a fantastic video, one that really captures how good they are live.Â
a very good gig, awesome
good band – took  the Sabbath blue print and ran with it. but lets be honest – Soundgarden, AIC, Tad and some band called Nirvana really played with it and bettered it! Maybe tool got some ideas too…Â
I’m happy to hear arguments that those bands are better than The Melvins (though I’d disagree) but to suggest that Tad are better is laughable. Tad are a good band, but don’t really hold a candle to any of those mentioned.

Yeah, Down played in Hellfest too this year ; but him and Anselmo were pains in the ass during the Melvins show…
By him, I meant Jimmy Bower and not Windstein in fact.
