Strange how ‘Tiny Monsters’ starts with that clip from ‘Tumbleweed’. It doesn’t sound right to me, the segue into ‘Tiny Monsters’ just sounds out of place.

This album is simply awesome… anyone disagree? Far better than V is for.

My review:

This “band” just keeps getting worse.

Sorry, this shit does not fit in with my predetermined notion of what I think music is supposed to sound like, so it sucks. I pride myself in being a metalhead, so I know what I am talking about, okay. I don’t need to open my mind or my ears and actually try to understand the art that is being presented in front of me. You know what, I should be a fucking critic.

I just don’t think it’s amazing.  What other music I listen to is irrelevant.

When are you ever amazed by an album the first time you hear it? Even Tool albums to a while to digest. I am reserving my judgement on the subject for now.

Fair enough, but I like to give it time to let the music sort of become a part of me so I can attempt to feel what the artist was feeling when he wrote it, and truly hear the music.

I’ve listened twice and think it’s a solid album. Tiny Monsters is awesome.

Even Tool albums to a while to digest. True, but then again I’ve listened to it probably a dozon or so times now, and am almost ready to pass judgement.  I don’t think it’s a bad album it’s a long way from amazing though.  I’ve listened to it a couple of times now and so far I give it a “meh”. Maybe I have not digested… Read more »

Just finished my first go around on it and gotta, like some others, put it in the meh category. M-e-h. Meh.
Some songs had me toe-tapping and b-boppin’ and scatin’ all over the place. Others, not so much.
Of the songs I hadn’t heard before (since we’ve heard Man Overboard), the Green Valley song stood out to me the most.
The real question is, how do I download this for free? Or at least get it on my Itunes.

Its an interesting listen, ill say that. Fun and different at least. Do like the single Man overboard quite a bit. But you guys are missing a main point, Maynards voice sounds pretty great. His versatility is staggering, i actually hope he adds some more of that to Tool, since the screaming cant always be used. The song conditions of my parole actually reminded me of “Maynards Dick” which is cool because im a big fan of that tune. A fun listen.

Horizons & Toma are pretty good, the rest is.. bleh. I really enjoyed “C is for…” I think he should stick to EPs like that. Just my thoughts.

I agree for the most part. Should be working on the new Tool album rather than wasting time on another side project. @Whisp – Bummer that he regressed since the C is for EP. I really liked The Humbling River, The Mission, Polar Bear and Potions. Way better than anything off V is for Vajayjay. Still probably will buy the album. Sucks balls though… Read more »

Just further reinforcement that the new Tool album is nowhere near completion and won’t be anytime soon. No point getting upset about tour dates now.  They can add as many as they want before the end of the year and I doubt it will make one… Read more »

I feel this is certainly not the forum for asking for a honest review on this album as this is a page dedicated to Tool & most are dedicated Tool fans. There is a huge amount of distain for this album here & believe it or not, its not a Tool Album. For people who enjoy music as an art form, the is a grand addition to the Puscifer’s offerings & although in its infantile stages, I’m sure as the album gets older, subtle depths and layers will present themselves. I have enjoyed the 5 or 6 listens so far… Read more »

admin – 4 minutes ago  »  Do you think, in all honesty, that if Maynard actually approached the rest of the guys and said he was 100% dedicated to Tool and to making another album that we would be at this point? My answer to that question is now, and will always be that it takes four members of Tool to make a new Tool album.  It’s very easy to point to Maynard as the problem as he is the most visible member of the band, but believe me when I say other members of the band have to bear… Read more »

The Irony is, for such a progressive band in which Tool is, there’s an incredible amount of backward imbeciles who enjoy their music & claim to be fans….

Nope, never thought that would happen, but then again, a shooting target is a much cooler piece of merchandise than just a poster of Maynard with his shirt off.

Agreed

I’ve been a tool fan for about a decade now, and condiser myself to have a very eclectic taste in music. I’m into indie, folk, electronic, hip hop, etc.

I think puscifer’s new album is great, it’s right up there with other progressive electronic/rock fusion records. I can see how a metal head would hate it, but looking at it without tool and apc in mind, I think maynard really nailed it. much better than v is for vagina.

I cleaned up those lyrics a bit, correcting what I thought to be a few mistakes. I couldn’t make out a few things, so any help would be appreciated. Also, if there was anything I got wrong, let me know. Tiny Monsters Day gives way to night on the storefront mannequins The audience with Mona Lisa grins. Moonlights builds emotion as the players scuttle in. Pull the curtain back and let the show begin. Moon of mischief under low-light discipline, Hear the tiny monsters hunt the harlequin. Silent patrons view the drama under low-light discipline, Hear the tiny monsters hunt… Read more »

Have listened to it a couple of times now…hmmmm Not really blown away to be honest, but maybe it is because this is the first Puscifer album I have been really holding out for, the other two just showed up and I went; wow, that shit is good. This one I have hyped-up a little in my mind, and perhaps that is why I’m not over the moon with the tracks. Some are already starting to grow on me though and I’m sure in a few weeks I will want to retract this very comment. 6 out of ten, actually,… Read more »

I think it’s a pretty high quality album.  Maynard’s lyrics seem very personal (and man, he is in great voice) and I absolutely love when he and Carina work together.  And I wasn’t a fan of V.   If some would have their way, the new tool album would have been released three years ago (and it would have sucked), Starcraft 2 would have been released five years ago (and it would have sucked) and Diablo 3 would have come out in 2000 (and it would have sucked).  Be patient, it will be awesome.  In the mean time, here’s some… Read more »

i have been holding back my thoughts of this album because some of the post really bum me out. certainly all anyone is doing is voicing their opinion, but just like over at toolshed everyone is a critic. 10,000 days was fake, and these songs have potential but were rushed and not developed. blah blah. i really like this album. maynard nearing the age of 50 has produced yet another fresh album. he did a wonderful job with the lyrics, and dynamic feel of where this record takes you. i agree with Sollus in that it most definitely seems the… Read more »

Anyone ever consider how all this negativity about a new Tool album makes the guys want to do it even less? I know they go at their own pace and aren’t influenced by fans, but if I was a member all this bitching would bum me out and slow me down even more.
