Seems like quite short notice for Tool dates, however it appears that two dates have been posted on Ticketmaster for shows in January:
- 17th Jan, Tuscon Arena, Tuscon AZ
- 18th Jan, Tingley Coliseum, Albuquerque NM
Tickets go on sale on the 16th of December. Thanks to all of you who emailed me!
Update: ticketmaster no longer shows those dates, however I am lead to believe that they (or at least the tour) are legitimate…
I’d imagine this is because there’s going to be a 7 year wait between albums now and they want people to know they’re still alive and serious, refresh their fanbase a little until the 5th album and release the video soon. It’ll bring them together again which will be good for completing the new album. This album is going to change the world. Not that their previous didn’t but I really think this going to make an impact on our planet in great ways. I hope for a show in either Houston, San Antonio. I dont want to drive to Dallas, but if thats the only show in Texas I guess I have to make a 5 hour roadtrip up to Dallas.

This is kind of weird. Why would they tour for only a month? Maynard will be with Puscifer for February and March, you would think he would need a break from the recent Puscifer tour. But I have no problem with it as long as they come to Red Rocks!
Sadly, we need Blair for an answer. If there are dates, which there seem to be, there wont be many. Hopefully some good cities, and hopefully a new tune to accompany! We will see. Once again, the waiting game. Should be fun!

Like I already said, if they do tour they’ll probably do one of those Cinema telecasts, where the concert is simulcast across the globe in cinemas, which is what Blair was hinting at in the last newsletter.

I’m in the UK and frequently travel to North America, but it’s never been during any Tool/APC/Puscifer tours. I know the logistics of a tour overseas is a nightmare, but just a few dates in Europe would satisfy a huuuuuuge amount of fans. It’s relatively easy to travel from Euro states and many outlying countries without too much expense, and let’s face it, us British boys do like a good excuse to travel overseas and sink a few beers… But, hey, I’m just having a little whinge. Who knows whether these 2012 dates are set in stone yet? For everyone… Read more »
