Intronaut Tour Diary part 2

Part 2 of the Intronaut Tour Diary from the Tool Tour 2012 is up, and once again it’s an insightful and humorous read.  Here’s a sample (with a song name censored to protect the unspoilt):

1/18/12 9:00 pm – By the time we hit Tucson, we were pretty sick of Dave being an attention hog rock star jerk. Tonight in Albuquerque, Tool invited Danny [Walker] up to play drums on "XXX". I got some really good footage, but just as they were almost done with the song, Tool’s head of security grabbed me and made me delete the footage per their "no filming" rule. This rule is obviously really effective — check out one of five hundred YouTube clips from that show above.

Note that unlike the first diary entry the article contains mild spoilers.

That’s pretty shitty to not allow them to film their own bandmates. This tour is a once in a life time opportunity for intronaut. Let them have their cake and eat it too.

Sounds to me like ‘security’ got a little power mad…
I can’t imagine any of the guys saying ‘hey man, erase that shit.’ Then again, maybe?….and did Intronaut know about the policy first? If not, TOOL probably should have let them know, ‘hey dude, don’t film us please’—and if they did know about the “policy,” then Intronaut have no respect for TOOL and should really start to think about another career.

Either way, I like the diary and I hope yob do the same thing…i need the vicariousness I guessiousness

So sad to see they ate Rudy’s “BBQ”. Rudy’s is a chain store BBQ joint that doubles as a gas station most the time. Good BBQ in TX doesn’t advertise on billboards on highway 35

mm, agree.

never heard of rudy’s but agree that the good bbq places no matter where really, do not need advertising. if you’re new to a city/area and you know you need the good stuff, ask a local.

They must have gotten lucky at the gas station as well. I don’t know how many times I’ve tried that at the local bodega and it never worked for me. I guess I am too white or need to start a band and tour with Tool to get hookups.

Just so you guys know… even if you are forced to delete a video file from your camera, the file data itself is still there (1’s and 0’s recorded to media) and you can actually recover the deleted file with file recovery tools. I use a utility called Recuva and I am able to recover deleted files all the time from hard drives and flash media. You just have to make sure to turn it off immediately and don’t add any more files to the memory card because that will overwrite any “invisible” data still sitting on the media. So… Read more »
