Sorry about the lack of news the last few days. Those of you active in the forum would know that I’ve been busy migrating the forums from an old bbPress 1 system to a more modern, and hopefully more flexible bbPress 2 system. There were a fair few headaches involved with this, the migration is now complete, and the new forums can be enjoyed here. There are still some further fixes to come, both to the blog and to the forum, and I still welcome any suggestions you guys and girls may have.
Anyway, here’s a bunch of news from the last few days I’ve been holding back while performing the update:
Word is that Tool (sans Maynard) are back in the rehearsal studio, hopefully putting some finishing touches on the next Tool album. While I don’t have any specific information, I’m quietly confident Tool should hit the studio a month or two after the current Puscifer tour finishes.
Speaking of Puscifer, the 2012 Puscifer tour kicks off tonight in Austin, Texas. In the lead up to this tour, Maynard did a short interview with Nashville Scene that’s worth a quick read.
Maynard’s new film Queens of Country has a world premiere on the 31st of March, which unsurprisingly is in Scottsdale Arizona. Ticket details can be found here. Thanks to emsazo for the tip!

The Melvins seem to be quite busy at the moment. Not only are they touring with Unsane, and releasing a Melvins Lite album Freak Puke with Trevor Dunn, it seems they also have an EP that will be released on the 13th of March called The Bulls & The Bees. The first track “The War On Wisdom†streams on Pitchfork this Friday.
