Snippets was already taken, so here’s a few sausages I’ll throw your way:
Volto! are playing another gig, this time at The Mint on the 31st of March, which is also located in The City Of Angels. Tickets are just under $25 and will be a great chance to check out some of their new songs. Hopefully Gryphon Labs might support them as well. Gnjasmkr will be a giving away free* beers on the night as well! Ticket details here: http://www.themintla.com/show/detail/55872
Did you guys all catch Puscifer on TV the other night? Was it any good, or were you madly yelling expletives at the TV like some commenters I know. Haven’t seen it? Well thanks to the power of Youtube you can:
If you like voting on the internet, and like Tool, then you may want to consider voting for Tool as the best Live Artist in the Revolver Golden Gods award. Or vote for Seether – it’s up to you! If I remember correctly Maynard once presented an gong to ISIS at one of these prestigious awards ceremonies. Don’t get your hopes up about voting Danny for best drummer though! Edit: To make it easier for you to vote, here’s the direct link to the poll involving Tool.
Finally, just in case albums by Meshuggah, The Mars Volta, Volto! and Cannibal Corpse weren’t enough, it seems as though The Melvins will be releasing something on the 5th of June. Something called Freak Puke and it’s noted that it’s Melvins lite (speculation seems to point to Trevor Dunn playing bass in a Melvins 3-piece). The cover looks a little like Lateralus so maybe they rerecorded their own version of that…
*free for the first person who gets some good Tool recording news out of Danny!
melvins > tool
Wow… the vocals are fucking terrible, and thats not me being my usual anti Puscifer self either. Yep, its really bad.
I’d never expect a performance on a TV show to be top shit but I sort of give up on Puscifer anyway because I understand from everyone here (and I know what I hear) that it is a different experience live.
So Blair if you’re listening tell your buddy to give us a proper listen (Aussie tour)cause at the moment I’m just missing.
Edit: The Mars Volta just keep getting better and better. Volto, I’ve never taken much notice of but I’m about to.
Not a huge fan of the singing into the back of a TV but whatever. Music was fine otherwise. Funny to watch the crowd react to the playing. They aren’t quite sure if this is one of those bands that you stand still and contemplatively listen to. Or one that you do some body rockin’ to.
Â
Voting complete. I support Seether b/c if Tool wins, the award will go to their head, they will feel complete in their life, and then they will quit touring forever.
Hey guys, vote meshuggah for best international band.Â
Wow, I’m not a huge Puscifer fan by any stretch of the imagination… but “the vocals are fucking terrible† I wouldn’t go that far.  I thought they were pretty damn tight. Â
Ah, if only Tool fans were mentioned on the “most dedicated fan” list…
Shoot them an email and ask to be put on this list?
The real snub was DC not being on the Best Drummer list. At least they had Haake and Dailor. If Haake doesn’t win, there is something very very wrong with the world.
Well, I think we all know that Haake ain’t winning. Â Dailor maybe.
Lies, Lies !!!
I thought this was going to be a thread about Breakfast Foods..
MMMMMmmmmmmmmm, Sausage..
;-}~
Hey I checked out the new post layout. OGT. Very cool. Thanks HB.
thought the same thing….showin the love for the breakfast meats
Didnt Volto play a their first gig since recording last night? Anyone get a chance to see? How the fuck was it?
Great, now im a newb again? What gives?
Once a newb, always a newb!
First time seeing full ” toma ” performance. All in all, I thought their sound/mix was good. For t.v. anyway. I was on the fence about puscifer for the longest time, thinking back it was probably just not wanting MJK to further himself from the “tool” camp.
After listening to more, and more of their stuff with an open mind, I can now say that I am a fan. Some really good song composition going on. IMO.
