I was reading through the comments to the recent newsletter article this morning, and came across this little Big Day Out 2013 tour rumour from PolarBear:
While catting with a few members after the Puscifer show in Houston last week, I overhead Josh Eustis say there may be plans for Puscifer to play Big Day Out (There ya go, Aussies. Wait is almost over.), potentially followed by a string of dates. He summed it up by saying, “February. We’re starting up again in February.”
Interesting news indeed. With Tool being Big Day Out regulars it wouldn’t come as a huge surprise to see this happen. Given that current Big Day Out & Soundwave Festival rumours talk about Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Linkin Park, Blink 182 and The Offspring, it’s nice to see a band rumour being thrown around that isn’t completely shit.
Update: Looks like Puscifer aren’t on the Big Day Out lineup after all!
That is great news as I’ll be back in NZ and even though we no longer have a BDO, Aussie will be a lot closer than it is now!

Great news, I’d love to see their show so I do hope this rumour sticks. I also totally agree that it is the best BDO rumour I have heard to date.
And Ravenpig I think that this is just the precursor to Tool announcing the world debut of their new album tour in Australia. Nothing weird about it.

I think it’s great that you Aussies might (hopefully) get a chance to see them. Puscifer put on one of the best shows I’ve ever been to, and it’d be great if they actually made it out of the U.S.

Kind of concerning if this is true. Why would Puscifer be starting up again in February if Tool records the new album by the end of the year? Makes me wonder if Tool is no where close to recording. Maynard has harvest coming soon. Certainly good news for aussie Puscifer fans and I am not knocking Puscifer or Maynard. Was just kind of hoping this last Puscifer tour this summer would be the end of it for awhile and the focus shifted back to Tool. It is a small concern, though potentially, unless Puscifer are recording as well it may well not interfere much with the Tool recording process. Making the assumption that Tool record sometime in the next 6 months, the beginning of 2013 would be a quiet time where Maynard probably doesn’t have to be so hands on with the mastering and art creating process of the new album. If Tool can’t hit the studio this year (something which we can all probably agree becomes a slimmer chance each passing day) then it certainly puts us in a situation where a new album… Read more »

They probably wouldn’t plan on the main stage? I don’t think enough people know about them here, definitely not in the realm of Tool and APC. Nor would I want them to…one of the smaller, more intimate stages would be better.
BDO just announced they’re announcing the full lineup next Monday, so I guess we’ll know then.
Another Rumor: I don’t know if anyone has said this, but Joe Rogan and Puscifer had exchanges on twitter last night making it seem MJK might go on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast.. Puscifer tweeted “Ok. Let that dust settle. @joerogan when we gonna do this?” with Joe Rogan Replying back with “@puscifer Anytime you’re down, my brother! I’m a big fan of your work and I wanna try your wine. DM and let’s make it happen!”

I think most here would agree, but the reality is like Rammstein, Puscifer probably aren’t big enough to justify their own full tour here, but would work well in the BDO setting.
