Congratulations to Maynard and the whole Arizona crew.
Question: What is the actual name of Maynard’s wine op? Merkin vineyards or Caduceus Cellars? Obviously one is the vineyard and the other the cellars. But why do his wines have different brand names??
I believe it’s Caduceus Cellars and Merkin Vineyards. Though I’m not 100% on that, Maynard’s wine ventures have always confused the shit out of me.
From memory Caduceus Cellars is a partnership between Maynard and Eric
Merkin Vineyards is all Maynard.
Maynard is also a partner in Arizona Stronghold, Page Spring Cellars and possibly more.
Caduceus & Merkin is all Maynard, Stronghold was partnered with Eric. I believe Eric is no longer with stronghold, but it is now Tim White (Eric still has his own vineyard, Paige Spring Cellars). Caduceus is Maynards premier brand label, merkin is like a side project is how I see it. The left over grapes that dont get used in his caduceus wines go into his merkin ones.
