Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Fourtheye is back after a brief hiatus! There have however been a couple of changes:
- You will notice the obvious stylistic differences between the old and the new site – this will be updated over the next two weeks
- The forums have been disabled for now. The old bbPress forums have been nothing but trouble since the day I installed them, and the “upgrade” I performed a few days ago was the last straw. Forums will return, however they will be in a new format which I am yet to determine. Keep your eyes open for a new forum starting sometime over the Xmas break.
- There are some changes to the menu at the top of the page and the location of a few items. If anything is missing, let me know and I’ll either put it back, or point you in the right direction.
Your patience over the last few days has been appreciated, and as always feedback on the site is welcome. I am especially interested in peoples experience with the speed of the site – is it faster or slower than before the cataclysm?

I like the look and feel so far Hellboy, and the site is quite speedy. Of course, the issues were always with the Forum so, let’s see once that’s back.
Couple of things:
The Messages tab should probably have a note saying that functionality is down, along with the Forum, for subscribers.
The links under Social need to be tweaked. Actually, scratch that. You must be working on this right now, because I went back to give you details and it’s already fixed. Good work.

At this stage, my plan for a new forum involves us starting from scratch. This isn’t a bad there, there was lots of things that bugged me about the old forums.

Before you assign all that has gone before to the dust pile there is some stuff (particularly my own comments on gigs) that I would wish to copy. Memory is fickle and for myself there was also info in the threads – new music, others suggestions and so on that I planned on going back to. I am also wondering if all the PM info is gone?
I guess the question here is would it be possible to view the old forum and take what we wanted, including pm’s before it is lost.
PM’s are still available as far as I can see. Just click the Messages item in the menu at the top of the page.
None of the data has been removed yet, however I have no plans to reopen the old forum in any way, as there’s no simple way to make it read only. I would entertain a short window of opportunity for people to gather information from it if they really want.
Yes I would really want if that where possible. The message centre does not work at all.

Should be fixed now – something screwy about moderator settings, everyone else could access as far as I could tell.
What about the trader feedback thread? I’d really like to keep that going. It is quite useful during tour time.
There will definitely be a chance to recover information such as this, I’m still working out the best way to import stuff from the old forum. Once I have more details I’ll let you guys know.

Kewl. I like that it takes you straight to the comment instead of just the page. I also like being able to directly reply to comments. I’m a big fan of comment threads.

Update so far – a new forum has been installed, and I’m in the process of setting it up now. I will most likely open it up for test access later on this evening, so if anyone here is keen to get posting, keep an eye on this comment thread.
There will be some changes both in the style of forum, as well as the staff, however nothing is set in stone yet. If you’re interested in having a say as to how the new forum operates, then definitely get onboard with testing.

Hellboy the messages are now functional but the page itself is pretty screwy. The message topics and the side bar information from the home page overlap each other.
Ok, that should be fixed now…
And it is. Can’t complain about the service today.

The new Fourtheye forums are open for testing. The can be located at:
http://www.fourtheye.net/f/
You should be able to access them with your regular Fourtheye account. Things are a little different, so take your time and look around at the features the new forum has to offer. There isn’t much in the way of posts in the forum, so make yourselves at home and start talking. I will add some stickied posts with some guidelines for each of the forums shortly.
Also note that things may change, so don’t be surprised if stuff gets moved, merges or flat out deleted
ya id say this is good news. once u changed it over awhile ago it seemed kinda weird. like, id be logged in yet it would still say on the side ‘log in’ crap like that. and god knows what else was wrong.
