Adam has posted in Instagram a partial image of something that looks like a drawing of his. No clues as to what it is except for the hash tag #soon:
Your guess is as good as mine as to what it’s for. Is it a poster for a coming tour (Tool or otherwise)? Is it some kind of artwork from the “unexpected” project or perhaps from the Pot DVD? Any other thoughts? I expect we’ll hear more in the next newsletter…
Update: It appears this image is part of the artwork for the new Red Hare album.
Obviously the Pot video. Soon could mean next week or May. I wouldnt be shocked if they waited until the AUS/NZ/JP tour to unveil the video sort of like what they did with the Parabola video.

How does anyone not realize it’s a gig poster for the upcoming tour? I mean… the mind reels sometimes.
And I don’t really mean you guys, more the mountains of people on Instagram, FB, etc. ALL of them just echoing “new album finally!!!!! whooooooooo!!!!” If you follow them enough to be aware of the new album hubub, you should probably be aware they’re about to tour, and this is what the gig posters normally consist of.

He’s definitely working on some posters. The shows are within reach #soon. What is it with this “Pot Video”? Why would they step backward? I don’t think there’s ever going to be a fucking “Pot Video” when they are looking forward at a whole new album… Anyways, I hope you Aussie fuckers and you Kiwi fuckers get to some new songs. Since when is Maynard the deciding factor in Tool. What could he possibly to do speed up the album making process. I guess one day he could just say “Hey those Tool guys are being way too damn lazy with this new album business. I will just stroll over to the loft and tell them to hurry the fuck up.”

i think the emotion and climax comes near the end of the writing process, but what do i know.
and when the earlier albums were coming out they were in the early stages of their evolution so i would imagine that the songs were probably written much faster

Just want to point out that prior to Aenima during Undertow tours, Tool played many songs from Aenima live long before the album was released. The live versions were different and would evolve over time quite a bit.
In fact, i didnt like aenima for a long time because it sounded pretty crappy compared to the live versions i had already seen. It took awhile to get over the songs i already knew. They changed parts, and the recording quality was way different than what i expected.
Now when i listen to Aenima it sounds pretty damn perfect. What can i say, i was a dumb teenager.
Most people don’t even watch bootlegs.
Probably a design for merch, but whenever they drop the new album I hope it’s out of the blue. It seems right for them to secretly record this time around. The design looks sweet by the way.
