Back luck for Perth and Christchurch Tool fans. No word yet if there will be a Toolarmy pre-sale.

There’s also a new article on New Zealand site 3News where Danny and Maynard talk about their love of touring down under:

“We’re looking forward to coming down. It’s one of my favourite places to visit, so I am very much looking forward to the show,” Maynard James Keenan told me in a recent interview for Rip It Up.
“Especially because it’s going to be our own, it will be a lot more fun to be able to present a contained show, because it’s been so long.”

After the last two festival tours, I couldn’t agree more!

A few thoughts: the first of these shows could be the first time we hear a new song unless an album comes out before then. The last of these shows could confirm that no new material is ready by that time, unless Mr Maynard says something on stage about the new shit.

“Fun?” “Looking forward to?” In the context of Tool? Wow, who killed Maynard and pretended to be him for that interview?

Tool have a track record of putting on great shows for us, and the venue is the smallest of the whole tour (capacity of 8,000 while the rest are all 14,000+). Which is precisely why the misses and I are trekking across from Sydney, despite the fact we’ll have a 3 week old baby by then :p We figure it’s the most intimate show we’ll get from Tool from this point onwards. (Also, alongside Sydney, we did Brisbane and Melbourne in 2011, and Melbourne in 2007, so nice to mix it up a little….NZ was on the cards also, but… Read more »
