In a followup post from the last one, Volto! have revealed the cover art for their debut album Incitare via Facebook, and without further ado:
The comments with that image note that it’s the version from the CD and is Silver – I’m guessing this implies there may be other colours? The artwork is by 60s pysch artist Rick Griffin and who’s worked with the Grateful Dead and other artists in that era. I’ve been lead to believe the artwork for Volto! is some that was leftover from a Beefheart or Yes release.
They also note that it will be released worldwide on the 23rd of July via Fantasy/Concord Music Group via “audiophile, vinyl, cd, lossless, mp3, amazon, itunes, etc…”
I was just vacationing in LA over the weekend and finally saw Volto! at the Baked Potato, and it was one of the sickest 90 min extended jam sessions I’ve ever seen in my life!! The keyboardist from Janes Addiction who isn’t normally in the band if I’m correct, was particularly awesome. I was lucky enough to sit by Justin, nice guy. We had to move over so he could fit in the booth and my girlfriend didn’t recognize him due to the beard and she was like OH GREAT NBOW WE HAVE TO MAKE MORE ROOM FOR and I was like shhh babe its a guy from Tool, she shut up.
