Thanks for the heads up Hellboy. I’ll give it a listen, but Maron really grates on me. The Nick Cave episode was almost impossible to get thru, and I only made it thru about 20 minutes of his interview with Iggy Pop. Maron is special, I’ve never encountered anyone anywhere so insecure and passive aggressive and needy and annoying. I wonder what MJK will be like in the face of that.
at the end of the interview, maynard says he’s gonna visit the band and pick up a CD with some jams on it. there you go, i see your boners! 😉
Really good interveiw. Fair amount of tool talk and a lot of pre tool talk. Maynard didn’t fight the tool talk at all.
At the very end maron asks about the future of tool, maynard says he is stopping by the loft while in L.A. to finally pick up a cd so he can “start the process.” He said he has been harassing the band whenever he talks to them saying, “give me music, give me music, give me music.” And now (presumably) they have given him some tracks.
Cool. He’s been saying since at least the start of this year that he’s been on them about hurrying up. I wanna hear this now.

strange that they wouldn’t share musical ideas along the way. i guess they work in a very particular manner.
maybe the pics of them recording is them finally making this Maynard CD, so they can finish these damn songs and album.
Now that he’s done so much Puscifer in the last couple years, it feels like he’s really ready to get back into TOOL mode. This is a good sign. Let’s hope they don’t get tripped up again.
