A Perfect Circle announce Stone And Echo

I received and email this morning from the A Perfect Circle mailing list (as well as many Fourtheye readers) letting me know that details of their collectible Live DVD Stone And Echo have been released. The package is more than just a live performance and features:

  • Stone And Echo, a full-length DVD (with accompanying audio CD) featuring the band’s stirring Aug. 11, 2011 performance at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater
  • Trifecta, a multi-disc collection featuring the band’s complete discography, Mer de Noms, Thirteenth Step and eMOTIVe, recorded live during A Perfect Circle’s handful of three-night, full-album performances. The 2010 performances, the first outings from the band since their self-imposed 2005 hiatus, were limited to Phoenix, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
  • Bonus tracks include live performances of “By and Down,” “Ashes to Ashes” and “Diary of a Love Song”
  • Five hand selected lithographs featuring the personal signatures of both Maynard James Keenan and Billy Howerdel on one of the selected prints
  • Custom sculpted resin frame designed by the band
  • A custom made guitar pick designed by Billy Howerdel and exclusive to this offering
  • The collection is bound in a custom-made media book containing artwork and credits

This limited edition is expected to ship just in time for Xmas during the week of December 2nd, and will cost US$149.99. It can be pre-ordered here. There doesn’t seem to be any indication that there will be a DVD only version of the release.

Here’s an audio preview:

a nice little collection. 150 dollars too much for me though and its a shame its not a live show from 2004! maynard sounds like shit now compared to 2004! they said they wre gong to release something from that tour or around that time anyway. this is dissapointing!

To everyone who think’s $150 is too much for ALL of this nice stuff. How many of you bought the 21st anniversary edition of Opiate for $150? Which didn’t come with SHIT. Oh I’m sorry, a USB card! And new artwork! The tracks weren’t even remastered.

Give me a fucking break. Compared to the Opiate reissue this is a fucking steal for the price. And you actually get new things out of it besides artwork.

Exactly the same thing I thought. There’s only a small handful of APC songs that I like, so this box set is clearly not for me, but it makes me glad I didn’t spend the $150 to have Opiate in fancy packaging.

I was a pretty big APC fan back in their day, but $150 is a bit hard for me to pull off. Really nice looking package I must say though.

I ordered one. I’d say it’s a pretty good deal for all the music contained. Plus signatures. This looks great!

so according to my ticket stub, the red rocks show was the 2nd ov august….not the 11th….hopefully (as im most likely going to get it due to the fact I was at that red rocks show) it is just a misprint on the website? Confirmation on this?

not too long ago i was browsing around on billy or ashes divide’s fb page, and someone who apparently knows billy had commented that the new ashes divide album he was working on wound up sounding more like a perfect circle than ashes divide, so there’s a slim chance that “three sixty” actually is a new album

Saw “Mer De Noms” performed at the Filmore in SF and didn’t go the other 2 nights after. What’s the bassist’s name? Bert Mcjunkstank or something like that? That guy fucked up every other song… I’m sure those won’t be on the tracks that are released. Otherwise… they sounded amazing so I’ll assume that we’ll hear the good stuff after Bert got his footing… Doesn’t he play bass for Puscifer too? Didn’t he fuck Ozzy’s daughter? As for the dollar value on this… I say this is more so worth the $150 than Opiate was for sure. Look at that… Read more »

ya its better then the Opiate special edtion for sure but i like how some get offended when i or other say they wont buy it! geeze! but good point it is better then the Opiate thing. and no, i didnt buy that either. 2004 was the best APC tour. they sounded amazing at those shows. a really good sound and a nice setlist of their two albums at that time with a great live versoin of the” nurse who loved me” i enjoyed the early tours too and saw them all. But Apc in 2010 to now im not… Read more »

This is interesting to me because we’ll get DVD quality recordings of “Diary of a Lovesong” and “By and Down”.

The version of Diary that the band played in La Jolla 2001 killed. I hope that one is included in this collection, but it will probably be from one of the 2010 residency shows instead. Still will be nice to have some professionally mastered audio from these sets. I heard a few bootlegs and there were some highlights.

Just received my box set yesterday. I understand that one photo per box set is signed, but it seems like its not the same for each box set? Also, does anybody know the significance (if any) of the numbers that have been written on the external shipping package? It seems to be different on each one.
