I’m guessing they mean “tour” (or mini tour) rather than concert.

Jeeze, Tool needs that album bad. Not even tour dates are getting people talking. There better be some substantial bit of new material at these shows. If Maynard has the lyrics i dont see why they shouldnt or couldnt play a new tune.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and guess that maybe, just maybe, their target audience for this is Mexican Tool fans. Considering the small number (if any?) of shows they’ve played down there, I’m sure many of their fans are very excited to attend. Though the prior five comments on this post aren’t particularly enthusiastic about going to see the show, there are already a couple of guys on FE I’ve read about who are flying down for that first festival they announced. So as much as I would agree that WE need that album bad, I… Read more »

These shows are going to be insane. My boss is heading down to the festival, and with Puscifer and Primus, I imagine the vibe will be off the chain. This is also awesome for the Mexican fans. Mexico City is gorgeous, Veracruz is a paradise and I would gladly go to any of these shows if I wasnt going to be in Cabo a few weeks beforehand. I am excited to hear bootlegs of the revised jam interlude. You can also expect some old #s like Opiate, Intolerance, Sober to be played (undertow or flood would be a treat), and… Read more »

No shit! I do not know why people are not interested in these shoes in Mexico particularly el tajin festival. It’s not Europe Australia or USA so it seems no one cares but Mexican fans Are just as passionate about their love for TOOL. If I hadn’t moved down under and still lived in Cali me and the wife would def get the crew together and head down. Does anyone else not put together the combination of all that is el tajin/arts/ruins combined with the mysterious edge that TOOL bring to the stage? It’s going to be one hell of… Read more »

I’m flying down from Texas to Mexico City and gonna catch the show on the 18th as well in the BIG scary smoggy city 😀 Then driving out to Veracruz to catch the wonderful magic of Tajin….like u said, this show is bound to be mystically transcendental in all senses of the word!!! And it doesn’t matter what the hell they play…all TOOL songs are great songs but I do hold a special place in my heart, body, soul for DRT. Hope with all… Read more »

TOOL has definitely played in Mexico before, just like Blair said. I was at the show in Tijuana back in 1992. It was on the roof of the Mexitlan mall, and a group named Woodpussy opened up for them. It was so fucking cold that night, and they started late. Great show though, I think they played a few “new” songs from Ænima before the album was released.
