Maynard thinks that The PRP are gullible for posting about Tool being in the studio. Are they? Are we? Is believing a video posted by Adam suggesting that they’re in the studio enough to make us gullible? Or is Maynard taking the piss?

Be patient. I must keep reminding myself of this. – It was too good to be true..
I truly hate this band
I don’t think they’re in the studio tracking the album, I think they’re in the studio doing pre-production, testing sounds, maybe working on some interludes etc, while MJK I assume is working away on his parts.
LOL
Whoa, did somebody step on a duck?
vultures!!!
studio could mean rehearsal studio.
Studio can mean lots of things, but I’m unsure why they’d be rehearsing anywhere other than a recent refurbished Loft.
I doubt it’s a tour- and that’s not what I’m getting at with this comment, so it’s slightly off topic- but anyone know where they rehearse for tours? Is it at the loft?…
For the most part I expect they rehearse in the Loft, however I think that when a tour is close and the lights are being tested, the rehearse in a sound stage. The studio they are reportedly in (which appear to be NRG Studios in Los Angeles) is certainly not a sound stage.
what about those videos that maynard took on his phone of tool rehearsing in a studio and not their loft…..before the Australia tour 2011.?
Not sure where those were taken. Not the Loft that is for sure. Presumably a larger rehearsal space where they can deploy their full rig (my guess would be the Loft only has a cut back version of their full backline).
How hard is it for one of the band members to clear up a misunderstanding/actually give us some solid information on this?
I get that a major ‘selling point’ of the band is that they are mysterious etc etc, but I mean come on… it’s been almost 10 years now, you can take 10 seconds of your time to give us some proper information and clear this up…

Still seems odd that Blair posted the other day –
“Faint impressions perceived while scrying on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 e.v. that involved the members of Tool, although unable to provide detailed information due to soporific side-effects… or maybe my “Almuchefi” wasn’t adequately blank?..”
And now Adam posts the video. I think Maynard is fucking with everyone’s head. I find it amusing 🙂
I’m not sure what’s more aggravating, how Tool handles their fans, or how 343 handles Halo.
oh my god. this is like a 9 year cock tease.
as someone said above, why can’t they give us a tiny bit of information that is free of innuendos and mystery?
They made a bunch of rennovations to the loft and then we saw the picture with the four of them sitting around the big recording console in the loft. We know they record their practice sessions but again I ask… are they tracking this album in the loft? Could they have gone to a studio for mixing and mastering? Could they be using a friend to help them track this album themselves? What has Aaron Harris been doing lately? He’s in LA… he has been recording a good amount of bands lately…. He’s got some chops… The sensory station album… Read more »
Blair just posted a multiple-choice questionaire up at the site. Going with C, Salival 2 type of release, not an album per say, but a project of some sort. Any fans of the Disco Biscuits here? They released a “live” studio album where their older album songs (which had morphed over time as they kept evolving during their live shows) were recorded in a studio as if they were playing live. That’d be fucking cool to hear from Tool.
That would actually be pretty bad ass….
Definitely C… Salival 2ish.
It’s kinda obvious that the correct answer (if there is one…) is C. The other ones don’t make sense at all. I’m glad they’re working on Salival II, but they should release new album before.
Its probably C. But def not a salival 2, there has never actually been anything to mention another live release, except random fan hopes. The only other thing that has actually been mentioned, which it probably is, is a really late Opiate music video they probably re tracked with the added segue, which is a cool segue. However, I think most fans would be disappointed. That should have been released with the 21 anniversary or whatever it was, missed the mark again. While there music videos are cool, I don’t watch them a lot by any means. They are a… Read more »
There actually has been mention of another “live release”. They talked about releasing a live DVD a while back and actually had cameras at several of their live appearances. Allegedly, after discussing this release, they ultimately decided not to do it because they claim that the video will not give the viewer a true experience of what it was like live in person… However, I’ve been wondering if they might do it with 3D and full surround to enhance the cinematic experience. They could very well be in there mixing sound for a live video of sorts or even an… Read more »
Just because Maynard thinks these media outlets are #gullible doesn’t mean that TOOL are not recording the new album. I mean, in general, they are pretty gullible and foolish.
He may just be expressing his opinion on how these news agencies jump to conclusions and give reports on supposed news without any real evidence to support it.
I don’t think Maynard should jump to any conclusions that these “news agencies” are run by “journalists”
